Installation was straightforward, problem was that the display read 0% RH no matter what the condition. I reached out to support to see if they had a solution, and this was their reply.."Hi,WN35 is a leaf wetness sensor, not a air humidity sensor. What made you think WN35 measure relative humidty?"I'm pretty sure that if the sensor was accurate then the leaf would have been crispy dry.🙄

Unfortunately, people misunderstand the intended purpose for these sensors. They do NOT measure the moisture INSIDE nearby leaves. What they report is an estimate of the amount of moisture on the SURFACE of nearby leaves, i.e. droplets or dew.So that said, the use I have found for this device is as a rain detector. It can detect as little as just a couple of drops of rain, well below the 0.01" threshold of my weather station. So for me, it serves two purposes:(1) It records the fall of a trace amount of rain on any given day that didn't reach 0.01" for my weather records(2) It provides an "early warning" that rain is starting. I have it trigger an audio announcement on my home automation system. Thus, if I have left something outside that I don't want to get wet, left vehicle windows open, etc, I can go fix it before the rain really starts falling. To do this, I have it paired with my GW1000, which I have send data to my Home Assistant system. I have Home Assistant look at the rate of change of the moisture reading, and when it is above 0.2%/second, that means it is sensing rain. Morning dew doesn't form that fast, so it doesn't trigger my system. So I'm really pleased with this device, just not quite for the use that the manufacturer intended!
