Quality you would expect from Vance and Hines. These are installed on my 2012 Softail Deluxe replacing the stock mufflers. I was initially concerned about slip ons instead of full pipes but when I was done and fired up the bike, I was very pleased with the tone and loudness. My bike now sounds like a Harley. The install was simple and took less than an hour. Removing old mufflers was the most difficult part. Do not tighten everything down until you have it mounted because you will need to make adjustments. I had the mounting bracket upside down at first and nothing was lining up. Since nothing was tightened it was an easy fix.I can't speak to performance yet because I'm also installing an Arlen Ness Big Sucker and Vance and Hines Fuelpak. When you are moving more air out, you need to be able to move more air and fuel in. Im sure that setup will give me more boost.Whether you are looking for better performance or looks and throaty rumble, these slip ons do it all.

This is a product of highest quality. I ordered these slip ons for my softail slim and could never expect this. The quality and size are beyond amazing. Most importantly, the sound is loud , throaty, beefy, whatever you want to call it. Moreover, the sound is better and sexier when you hear it, no review will ever speak highly enough of this pipes. I am very happy. I am glad I got these and not the full system. If you want high quality loud slip ons, these are the ones. Take my word, they are as loud as full system and look amazing.

I like the Slip-Ons on my 2015 Softail Slim, they retain the look of the bike which I really like. The stock baffle is annoyingly loud so I replaced it with the 1.5" Quiet Baffle 21899, you will notice a horsepower drop with the quiet baffle. The stock baffle on the Slip-Ons make for a noticeable horsepower increase but they do require the engine to be tuned to run right, I just do not like the sound they produce. I prefer a deeper sound on my bike which the quiet baffles give me now.

I purchased these for my 2013 Softail Slim (103 motor).. Now we're talking! This is what a Harley should sound like. I was looking to change the horrible stock sound of my bike and these did the trick. They have a very deep and throaty sound. The difference is night and day between these and the way my stock pipes sounded. Just mellow cruising they have a nice low rumble... however when you snap the throttle, these dogs really start barking! Love them!As far as installing, it was a breeze. I would recommend spraying a little wd40 at the muffler joints your taking off to aid in removal. Also, I recommend removing your heat shields completely so you can start the bike and check for leaks around the muffler joints. If you have leaks you will get a lot of deceleration popping. I had leaks and even torqued the muffler clamps down to 60ft pounds (an extra 20 over what my manual recommended.) yet they still leaked. I should say that I re-used my stock clamp which only had 1000 miles on them and figured them to still have plenty of life in them. :-/ V&H recommended new clamps. Anyway, to stop leaks, I ended up getting some high heat silicone and ran a bead on the inside of the slip-on before I slipped them on to the header pipe and it worked like a charm. I have zero leaks but still get a little deceleration pop at higher rpm's.As to the great debate about whether you need a tuner and an air cleaner in addition to these... In my humble opinion, no, however I went ahead and ordered the vo2 naked air cleaner and fuelpak also just so I can tune out the decel pop completely. It's not much and I didn't mind it at first, but it has started to get on my nerves.Lastly... Great pipes, awesome sound. I'm very pleased with the quality, the look great, sound great and I'm smiling ear to ear every time I twist the throttle.UPDATE: Well my opinion has changed. After putting the Fuelpak and VO2 air on in addition to the slip-ons.. It's unbelievable what I was missing out on. Bike runs like a champ, Runs WAY cooler, ZERO decel popping, ZERO popping in between gears, ZERO surging in certain gears, and the throttle is like a new toy. I guess I was just too giddy about finally having some sound to notice my bike wasn't running as it should. Do yourself a favor and buy the VO2 air and Fuelpak to compliment these bad boys. I'm glad I did!
