Mic failed almost instantly and there are no schematics that I can find to troubleshoot the electronics.I'm considering buying another one just to find some component values to try and repair my dead one but I feel like it's probably a waste of time/money.I've read decent things about these mics but I wonder whether amazon are selling a dud batch or something as I'm seeing reports of similar failings.Probably better off buying a rode nt1 or similar if looking for an affordable ldc that is actually reliable.Avoid is my advice.

I have worked with the best mic's in the world. From the U47 vintage Tube Mic's to todays top vitual mics like the Slate ML1. I needed to upgrade the mic IU se in my home studio where I do a lot of professional voice over work and some music production as well.The MXL V671 was a perfect choice! Straight into the box with no plug ins, you can just tell its a quality microphone. I use it with the Steinberg UR44 which has phantom power built in. I predict I will have this mic for many years.
