This DAC produces a very clean, neutral, and analytical sound. For a desktop DAC, the performance is more than excellent enough. Only reason to look for a better performing DAC is if you need it to power hi-fi speakers extremely loudly, such as in a theatre or concert.The noise floor is dead quiet, well beyond lower than what can be audibly picked up. I did see that ground loop hum or noises from their PC could be picked up for some, which I did not experience at all. Getting an USB isolator, like the Topping HS02 would solve this.It's great that this DAC gives you the option to choose between the two outputs, or have them both run simultaneously. I keep both outputs on so I can play my speakers and headphone amplifier at the same time. My previous DAC forced me to choose between my outputs.The remote is Bluetooth, so I do not need to point it directly at the DAC to use it. It's nice that it still seems to work even when the Bluetooth setting is turned off in the DAC. I just wished there were buttons on it to cycle through the PEQ profiles, and to toggle PEQ on/off. The custom user profile buttons help, but there are only two of those.The PEQ feature is great to see incorporated into a DAC at this price point, and I can only hope that this will be the new trend for future DAC's. I am of the belief that a DAC and amplifier should be completely neutral and transparent, and that speakers/headphones will make the biggest difference in sound quality and tone. Having the PEQ squashes any of my desire for a tube amp, as I can play with the PEQ to tweak my headphones how I want.It's good to see that this product has been getting firmware updates which actually added features. I read that PEQ profiles/settings were not saved in the custom user buttons on the remote initially, but a later update added that.Originally I was considering the RME ADI-2 DAC, as that is an all inclusive desktop solution with great performance and features. I did not need most of them so I could not justify the cost of a brand new RME. Ended up getting the D50 III and A50 III stack. I have no regrets with this purchase.Only thing up for question is the reliability down the line, but most other users haven't reported any issues. If something goes wrong, I'll update this reviewIf you are looking for a great performing DAC with PEQ features, this is the one to get!

Der Welt besten DAC kenne ich nicht - aber der Topping D50 III kommt gleich danach ..Klein aber fein, besonders in der Auflösung und Klarheit.Hier wird nichts gerundet,was unvorstellbar viel mehr kostende High End DACdurchaus nicht selten machen.Der Topping ist gefühlt auf Augenhöhe mit dem wohl einzigen noch preiswerteren ZD3.Wer schon einen hochwertigen DAC im Motherboard hat, etwa den neutralen ESS 9118 sollte keine Welten erwarten.Auch wenn anderswo das Gegenteil behauptet wird..Ein DAC ist ein Wandler-- kein Musikinstrument mit einem Klang.Der Topping ist mit seinen zwei ES9039Q2M eher ein neutraler Durchreicher der die Wiedergabe nicht schönt.Der ganz neue Fosi ZD3 auch, undist mit seinem nur einen aber gleichen ES9039Q2M genau so gut.Etwas wärmer vielleicht, ohne die Auflösung nur im geringsten anzutasten.Was ein UGRREN USB DAC für nur knapp über 7 Euro, schon wiedergibt ist erstaunlich.Wenn alte oder billige DAC, S-Laute betonen oder harsch wiedergeben, kann es auch an der Quelle liegen.Für die die den Preis des Topping oder ZD3 nicht entrichten wollen, sind solche erstaunlich wenig kostenten DAC einen Versuch wert.Ein Sharkoon DAC kostet schon etwas über 30 Euro, und ein Earmen Sparrow etwas über 70 Euro,ist aber schon ein ausnahmsloser High End DAC.Der Topping D 50 III, undder Fosi ZD3 sowieso.

I'm using this DAC with a WiiM Ultra via coax and a CD player via Toslink. I'm powering the DAC with a powerbank, not from the mains. It is linked via the balanced output to its matching headphone amp and I'm mostly listening with Hifiman Edition XS headphones. At first I tried listening from the headphone output of the WiiM, then I added the Topping headphone amp, and finally the DAC. Each has been an improvement IMHO. The biggest difference being from the WiiM to the amp. This DAC is quite neutral, brings out lots of detail, probably sounds a little cold, the sound stage is wide but little depth, as if the musicians are nearly on the same plane. I use the equaliser in the WiiM to tweak it a little. This DAC is solid and well made and comes with a useful remote. The C1 and C2 buttons are programmed by keeping them pressed until a message appears on the DAC display. Set your input and volume then press C1 or C2 to store it. Useful when swapping between sources. My WiiM is set to -3.5 dB and the CD player to -14.5 dB for example.

Ho 3 impianti in casa ho già avuto topping d50 modello mk I nel 2018-21 con il suo alimentatore lineare.Venduto per un modello più performante e l'ho riacquistato ora.Gli anni passano e le prestazioni aumentano, dalle misurazioni tecniche è decisamente superiore a molti dac. La possibilità di usare il plug in topping TUNE con il dsp interno è una vera fortuna.Tutto l'audio del pc può essere eqaulizzato molto bene.E' la funzione per cui l'ho preso. Unico alla misurazioni batte dac dal costo doppio attualmente in commercio e che lo sono da 2 anni. Ho venduto il mio ex dac per questo e pure ci ho guadagnato. Il dsp, che dire...misurando e correggendo il suono grazie al piccolo D50 mkIII il salto di qualità è ancora piuù grande.Il vantaggio del dsp topping è che muta pochissimo il regnale solo nei punti d'intervento. Ho un dac dsp dal lavore di 2200 euro in casa di una nota marca tedesca e criaramente non c'è paragone, ma per un deimo del prezzo si fa amare!!!Notate le misure a banco di d50 mkIII e la sua tecnologia e se avete dac sotto i 500-700 euro di altre case probabilmente questo dac andrà meglio.I limiti sono nell'alimentazioni. Se lo alimentate da pc tramite usb o tramite un alimentatore witch perdete parte della qualità rispetto dac che hanno il loro alimentatore interno. L'alimentatore topping a un ripple di 5mV ovvero 5000uV. Una scheda usb probabilmente sarà sui 20000-50000uV (20-50mV)edi in base al pc(se non peggio in alcuni casi). Io ho una scheda usb audio base ma alimentata con un ottimo prodotto dove al topping arriva un ripple di 0,8uV. Capirete bene che dar una corrente più lineare di almeno 5-20-50 mila volte lo aiuterà molto.Ecco che fra topping d50 mk III ben alimentato (0,8uV) ed un dac a caso non perfettamente alimentato ne passa. W D50 mkIII ed il suo dsp interno. oltre che 10 e lode e W i tempi che passano.
