Very compact Topeak Bike Bag Weatherproof Cover. I like how it will protect my Topeak Bike Bag & contents inside should I get caught in a rainstorm. Perfect a fit!

Super simple product, waterproof cover that goes over my Topeak bag. No drawstring, but uses elastic. It fits snugly, but is not hard to get on. I've even had a hat sitting on top of the bag and the cover fit over it nicely without squishing it. Held up to PNW rain with ease. The only thing I didn't like is that I use the loop on the rear bottle storage to hang my rear light, and the cover has no replacement loop to re-mount the light. I had to move it to the mtx rack and the light doesn't fit as nicely on there.

Unless you are a professional seamstress, there is no way you can create this for less money than it costs. It goes on in seconds, acts as a huge light reflector, blocks the rain and dries quickly. If you hate mold and other rain related awesomeness, this is the answer. Yeah, it is just a simple bag, but it is exactly the right size and it works exceptionally well. Drop the coin and go out for a ride instead of finding the fabric, making the pattern, sewing on the elastic, test fitting, seam ripping everything because your seam allowance was too generous and so on. It is a good value IMO.

IT always annoys me that the pictures don't match the received product, in this case i knew the colour was wrong by reading the reviews by the buyers. it fits snugly the elastic is tight told hold in in place so it shouldn't fall off . Arrived quickly from the US.

Sometimes you find a product that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Topeak's MTX Trunk Bag Rain Cover is exactly that. In essence, it's a big, silver shower cap for your trunk bag, and I'm fine with that. It's not fancy, and it won't turn your Topeak Trunk Bag into a submersible (but, then again, if your bike is underwater, you've probably got bigger problems) -- but it *will* keep the stuff inside the bag dry and cozy even in a torrential downpour. Yes, you could probably achieve similar results by repurposing something, but this cover is designed to fit snugly and easily, and it does. As with most of my bike gear, this thing occasionally has to hold up to riding on the front of a bus at Interstate speeds (60 MPH/100 KPH), and it does so admirably. I'm not sure a jerry-rigged solution would work as well.It also packs down compactly into itself and can be stowed in the trunk bag. I was worried it might not hold its own against the shifting array of tools and other things that have taken up residence in my MTX bag, but it does fine. It might or might not to hold up to being stretched out and then stabbed with a screwdriver, but that's not something that's terribly likely to happen to it under normal use.For what it's worth, I find it pretty amusing that my trunk bag looks like a zeppelin when I put this thing on it. You might feel differently. Either way, it does keep the rain out, and the little triangular reflector on the back also does a good job, which is handy, since the reflective striping that adds visibility to the MTX bag is covered when this is on (I think it would be really cool if the reflector was orange instead of silver, but that's a matter of taste and no reason to detract a point).Oh, this rain cover also basically weighs nothing. You might think I wouldn't worry too much about the weight of a little shower cap-thingy when I'm already rolling with my Junk-In-The-Trunk-Bag, but, hey, every gram counts! Besides, the light weight means you can easily stuff it in a jersey pocket if you don't want to keep it in your bag.If your bike budget doesn't allow you to snag one of these rain covers right away when you get your MTX trunk bag, you'll probably be fine using a large plastic bag for a while -- but I would definitely recommend purchasing one of these eventually. Yes, it would be great if the Trunk Bag came with one, but I'm not going to knock Topeak for not including it. Their careful attention to quality, detail, and design has won me over for life.
