These are excellent socks for wearing around the house or for racquet sports as they have a cushioned sole and heel, but not so good for running distances as they are thick.

I echo other reviewers who say "What's happened to Thorlos quality?" These Tennis Socks have good cushioning, but it's cushioning that's prickly because the inside of the socks have loosely looped threads that are rough on the feet. There are also a lot of strange 1/4" straight loose threads on the inside. The lower sock in the photo is inside out so you can see what I'm referring to. It's a shame, because Thorlos used to be the best and now they're downright uncomfortable.By the way ... like other folks, I ordered the white & gray but got the white & gold. Not a bit deal since they'll be inside closed shoes, but just another sign that Thorlos is no longer great.

I love Thorlo and have worn them for 30 years worth of tennis. And they last nearly that long. But of the three styles I own, I much prefer the gray-soled ones shown in the ad. These are the ones I wanted, the ones I ordered, and the ones I expected to receive. But instead, I received the gold-soled socks which are much heavier and thicker—thick enough that I have to go up nearly a half-size in my shoe. The best word to describe them is “bulky.” I’m disappointed but will make do with second-best since they really are outstanding socks.

These socks provide a lot of cushion for playing tennis and pickleball. I love them.

Description says "womens socks"; socks received are "Unisex". Sock pictured has a "gray" toe; socks received have "brown" toes. I wanted gray toes, because socks with brown toes are much thicker than those with gray toe. Received three sets of socks for $19.99, so this would have been a good buy IF I wanted the thick brown-toed socks. So far, have been unable to find the women's gray toed socks in Large size; perhaps Thorlos has stopped making them.
