Ausgepackt, Batterien rein und funktioniert. Man kann es auch kalibrieren, aber ich hab einfach mal so an unserer Fahrzeugen getestet. Dort wo mal was gemacht wurde hat es entsprechend angezeigt und ansonsten im Normalbereich. Würde ich daher bei einem Gebrauchtkauf unbedingt mitnehmen und durchmessen. am Rande sei erwähnt, dass ich Rechtsanwalt bin und öfters auch solche Fälle in der Bearbeitung habe...Gut finde ich, das es mit Batterien läuft und keinen eingebauten Akku hat, da ich das Gerät nicht allzu oft benötige.

I ordered this device for my son, as he had a problem with a new car which it turns out had a door re-sprayed prior to delivery, though he had not been to,d about it. My son used to work in the car industry business and could see that the door had evidence of a re-spray. This device helped prove that the door had additional coats, over and above the factory spray, and he is now getting a brand new door fitted, sent from the manufacturer.I’m afraid I can’t tell you what the reading for a factory fresh spray is, but this device can, and measuring the other doors that were factory sprayed against the re-sprayed one, showed the difference. So I would say I’d you’re into your cars, then this little device is very handy, especially if buying in the used market. Takes 2 x AAA batteries, not supplied. Price wise, at £59.99 it’s not cheap, but it does work, and it may save you an issue in the future. My son rates it, so it’s five stars from me.

I need paint my car and I just bought a front bumper without paint, this is such great device and I got information how deep the paint and I know how paint I need go. So I already got the information and that is great help for me to paint the job. Such great stuff and great design. I’m so happy to have it just time to help me to do the job. Great product with reasonable price.

I have been looking at these for a while but most that I saw were rather expensive for amateur use, as I only wanted this to check my own cars for paint quality and prior damage before buying I didn't want anything to expensive so when I saw this it looked ideal.The scanner itself looks very nicely made with clean joints, an easy to read display and sim pie to use controls. It requires two AA type batteries which unfortunately are not supplied however, I always keep some at home so I was able to test this right away.I firstly tried this in my home just to see how it worked and whilst I can't say for sure how thick the paint is, this did appear to give a reading that is within what I would expect to be correct.Next I tested this device on my car which is a Jaguar XF that uses a base coat in white with a clear lacquer over the base coats. Again, whilst I'm not sure what the reading should be for a new car this unit did give me a clear reading of what my car is now and it seemed to be pretty even over the entire bodywork of the vehicle.Overall, this paint depth meter seems to be accurate and looks to be built to last so why spend more, I will now be able to test any future purchase of a car for having been repainted, damage and general wear due to a cutting polish being used.Recommended.
