Excellent spoon rest that will quite literally last me forever. I needed a neutral color spoon rest, and this is perfect. Nice quality.

I have an open gas stove, and for ages I did not have a spoon rest. I cook at least two meals a day, and you could imagine what a mess it was. I needed something that wouldn't melt or burn up, and this was the godsend I was looking for. It's very pretty travertine, and it's nice and thick... heavy. Works like an absolute charm and is in a cute shape that works well. Spoons (and even whisks) stay on it without falling off.

This marble spoon rest is real travertine marble (rough edges here and there) and sized correctly and no damage in shipping. However, having travertine flooring, manufacturers can 'select' shades so a floor doesn't look like a quilt. While travertine has different shades, I expected this company to select 'beige' as the description states will be the color. Mine is VERY grey and I didn't care for it all. it looks muddy instead of bright especially for the kitchen. For those who are lucky to get beige, I'm sure it will be a nice object to have. It is not glossy by the way. It's matte.
