I bought these as a a replacement an M8 from another supplier, and I find that my 4.5mm insulated wire, which slides easily through the old one, does not fit through the rubber seal ring. (The plastic casings seem fine.) The ring opening diameter measures 4.1mm vs about 4.3 for the other supplier, and this is enough to make it tight on the cable so the cable cannot be slid through. In other words don't buy these if your cable approaches 4.5mm diameter, but for smaller wires it should be ok.

As a strain relief for high gauge wiring, these worked very well. Running 2con 18awg thermostat wire felt close to a maximum. This project was with the SolidRemote 202U I also bought on Amazon. I ran the antenna through the strain relief (the one all the way to the right) with two 24 AWG wires, and that also felt like the maximum that could be passed through. Once the seal nut was tightened (external of the enclosure), the wires were in no way pulling on the screw-down terminal blocks inside the enclosure. For my project, you can see the retaining nuts inside the enclosure fit side-by-side, but I was able to do all the tightening from the male end of the fitting, outside of the enclosure.I took a gamble on buying these, and they worked in every way that I could've asked for, even if I had to be patient in the installation for my application.
