Who loves Sevcik? But it has to be done if you want to climb that greasy pole to the profession...nobody will pay to hear you practice Sevcik, however of all the Sevcik books this is the one that won't give you brain freeze and students seem to like them!

My violin teacher uses this set of studies for teaching certain bowing techniques. With his guidance it has been an excellent set of studies. However, I would not necessarily recommend it for self-study.The product itself is very nice. The format is clear, easy to read and well-marked. This edition does include an introduction which seems to explain somewhat the purposes of the study; however, I have not yet taken the time to read it.
