Not quite as handy as I thought when I first saw it. The bottom piece (the nails) needs to be driven in reasonably accurately about 40mm (1½") away from the base of the broken post, and driven in only far enough to allow the fastening bolts that connect it to the upper piece to remain available. It is then driven the rest of the way into the ground and screwed to the post. If the post was sunk into concrete this can't be achieved so it will only work on 'soft' ground. if the post is bigger than 3" square, I doubt if the support provided would be enough to support any movement in the fence it is supporting. The cost of replacing the post could well be less than the cost of this support. It has a use, but I think it has a very limited use as a temporary emergency fix. And that is worth three stars.JC

Was made of good sturdy metal.easy to assemble and good long spikes to make it sturdy in the ground. I had a difficult post that had broken off at the bottom and this made it possible to save the fence for a while and not to have to disturb the neighbours side too much

I used the two‑pack to straighten a pair of garden posts that had begun to lean after storm "Eowyn" at my mum's, in Scotland. Each 85 cm stake drove in flush with a sledge after a few taps; the serrated blades bit the soil and the supplied screws pulled the timber tightly to the bracket. No digging or concrete needed—job done in under twenty minutes. The zinc‑coated steel feels solid and has sat through heavy rain without rust. Spares, hex key and drill bit are included. Given the speed, stability and kit contents, value is excellent. Only time will reveal the reliability but the fence was already on its last legs, so any help in extending its life and saving money is welcome. It's worth a shot if your post is starting to go. This kit comes with pretty much everything needed for assembly and installation other than a hammer or mallet and drill, though it does include a drill bit. Each stake extends above and below ground to nearly 400mm in each direction. There is a spare for each of the mounting hardware items.How suitable this will be is going to depend on how much repair is needed. For a panel that isn't completely collapsed, perhaps just rotting at the base of a post but otherwise fairly intact, it should work well. The kit may not be suitable for a panel that's collapsing fully, at least not with just one stake per panel.

If you experienced broken fence posts previously you know what a nightmare it can be to repair them.I see this fence post stake as a temporary solution to put in place and stop the post being broken further until you can completely replace it.This metal post repair stake measures 78 cm in length when both parts are connected together and has dual spike to be put into soft ground.The top part then has 4 pre drill holes for the accompanied screws to be put into to support the wooden fence post.As the metal parts are held together via 3 screws in the centre I see them being the weakest part of this build with pressure being pushed onto the screens from the post in the wind.All required screws and a drill bit are included in the pack and this is a good cost effective fix until you are back in spring time to replace the broken post then.
