Works perfectly in my Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Now I can finally listen to Spotify without an annoying cable when I am driving. After initial pairing it has worked as expected (reconnecting when in range).Warmest recommendation

Works perfectly in my case. I assume that most users complaining about engine-related hissing noise in a car did not attempt to use this receiver along with a "GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR". I did try several receivers and always had a hissing noise in car when the engine was on, and this was also the case when I plugged my phone into the Aux port of my car, and at the same time charged my phone from the cigarette lighter plug. This problem is not related to the receiver itself, but just to the absence of a ground loop isolator, which it took me a while to realise. There are plenty of cheap ground loop isolators on offer with Amazon, and they eliminate the very unpleasant noise created when a sound source is connected to the same electrical circuit than the speakers themselves (ie, in most cars). Along with one, this receiver works perfectly for me.Here is one, similar to the one I use: My phone (Android) connects automatically and within a second to the receiver as soon as I start the car, and the sound quality is great. Also, connection is cut as soon as the engine is off, which is a big advantage if your car is parked in front of your house compared to battery powered alternatives that will keep the connection on for hours unless you manually shut them down. This receiver offers the advantage of being a truly "fit and forget" solution. The blue LED on the receiver lights on as soon as the receiver is powered by the USB port, and will turn off when power is cut off. This allows you to be certain there is no battery drain coming from it, in case you were wondering if your USB port (or cigarette lighter plug) was still powered when the engine was turned off. Cigarette lighter plugs remain powered in some cars when the key is out of the ignition, but probably not in the majority of cars. Anyhow, this allows you to be certain where you stand. Another way would off course to plug in your phone in the USB port and to see whether it charges or not when the car is turned off. If your phone charges then, I would probably recommend to pull the receiver from the plug if you are not going to use the car for more than a few hours. In my case, and probably in the majority of cases, this is not necessary.

Excellent little gadget. The reviews for this little gadget were mixed - some great and some awful, but at less than the cost of a couple of beers, I figured it was worth a punt.I've recently acquired a 57 Honda CRV EX, which being an older vehicle doesn't have the connectivity available in newer models. I'm loathe to look at changing the head unit right now as it's a big unit and incorporates all of the vehicle's voice control system, hands-free phone system, steering wheel controls and reversing camera. Up to now I've been using an extended auxiliary cable which runs from the Brodit cradle for my Xperia Z2 under the carpet to the Aux input in the centre console. With the existing setup, sound quality was passable, but the head unit volume needed to be well up and often there was a low level hum (only really noticeable on quiet parts of tracks, but annoying all the same) caused by the ground loop between the phone's charger and the Aux. The cable in use was a top notch home-made unit with Neutrik connectors and decent shielded Bandridge cable, so no room for improvement there. The packaging is simple and contains the BTR003 and a short 3.5 to 3.5 cable. I didn't use the cable as I had a nice dual Neutrik plugged lead with Van Damme cable to hand which I used instead. Setup was easy - I plugged it into the dual USB charger which resides in my centre console 12V socket. The phone's Bluetooth found the BTR003 within a few seconds of the ignition being switched on and pairing was instantaneous. The volume level put out by the receiver is much higher than the headphone output on my phone, so there's a lot more headroom on the stereo now, and sound quality is EXCELLENT. For mobile listening, I normally use Spotify in extreme quality and this little gadget is well up to the task. I'm generally a fussy listener, having a decent home hi-fi and a decent DAC/headphone amp/headphone setup for personal listening at home. Set against my usual standards, the bluetooth receiver doesn't dissapoint. No annoying ground loop hum, either. The phone simultaneously connects to the aux input and handsfree system via bluetooth so everything else still works as normal. At the price it's a crazy bargain. What are you waiting for? Just buy one!
