Both my wife and I like the sound of the Cherry Blue (corsair) switches which are just the right kind of clicky in our opinion. However, the Cherry switches are a bit wobbly and dont feel as solid as these Razer purple switches which are considered the comparable clicky sound. The sound is a lower octave, and is more 'thuddy' and clunky. However, the overall feeling is that of reliability, and sturdiness. It makes you feel more good using this... so we have returned our Corsair clicky blue (Cherry) keyboard and kept the Razer. The Corsair felt more exciting to use and was cordless as well. However, these Razer Huntsman V2 Purple is very SOLID, and the clicks are more deeper and satisfying in a differently to the Cherry blues. So these optical purple finally won.

If you're someone who divides their time between typing and gaming, and prefers tactile feedback compared to linear/mushy switches, I've tried plenty of keyboards and the Huntsman V2 with Purple switches is the one I've stuck with. The wrist rest is a plush leatherette, super comfortable and it sits in a good place so it's actually supportive. The switches themselves aren't too loud which is a bonus as it won't get annoying to hear the "click click click" over time. No gimmicks with this keyboard either - you can turn off the lighting if it's something you're not bothered about and everything serves a useful function. To be honest, I didn't think the Purple optical switches could mimic the feeling of a "true" mechanical tactile Cherry MX or Razer switch, but I stand corrected. If you like clicky/tactile mechanical switches but also like the idea of keys that are far more responsive, Purple switches are the way to go.

Just purchased this gaming keyboard as an upgrade to an old Razer keyboard. The keyboard feels of high quality as soon as you take it out the packaging. Pressing the keep caps is super easy and lightweight which is great and a main point I was looking for. However the keyboard is extremely loud. It states that it has a sound dampening foam but I think this is a wind up as it’s definitely non existent in my keyboard which is quite disappointing. Maybe I was expecting miracles for this insane price tag. Also really unhappy as Amazon did not take the time to package up the keyboard in an additional packaging box therefore the original Razer box for the keyboard was damaged slightly in transit and is also covered in lots of stickers that I can’t get off so the original box is useless if I ever want to sell the keyboard on :(

I should have know better, but this is much noisier than I thought it was going to be after reading lots and lots of reviews. It was very tactile and felt good to type on, but I couldn't hear my radio on lower volume when in use, and was too noisy to use during a phone call. Lighting was a bit dim. Not terribly bad and very visible in the dark, could have done to be slightly brighter and the font / back-lit letters a bit more legible. Changed for a Brown switched SteelSeries Apex 7 which is a dream to type on and use with AutoCAD (I don't game), it's also visually very pleasing.
