Ralph Towner: Solo Guitar Works

Very nice publication of some of Towner's guitar pieces. Many of these are quite challenging but a few are accessible for non-experts.In case it is not obvious, this publication is oriented toward people with classical guitar instruction, who are familiar with musical notation for guitar, as opposed to chord names and tab or the like.

Exactly what I needed and in perfect condition upon arrival. Always wanted to learn Oleander Etude. Now I know it for memory.

タウナーギターの特徴として、かねてから独特のハーモニーが取り上げられてきている。それが今回、譜面をたどりはじめるうちに、それらハーモニーをとりまく、シンコペーションと曲全体のながれにも独特のひねりや工夫が随所にみられた。本書にも譜面の誤りなどもあることから、半音階の読み違いなどみうけられた。

ＥＣＭを聴いているギターファンの中にはタウナーをフェイバリットに揚げる人も少なくないと思う。ギターを弾ける人の中にはコピーを試みた人もいると思うが、難しくて挫折された方も多いのでは。実は自分もその一人で、特にハーモニーのコピーは難しいことが多かったなー。というわけで、私にとっては待望の１冊！Volume１となっているので続刊にも期待してしまうが、まずこの一冊が弾けるのはいつのことか・・・。
