Popular Piano Solos 1: Adult Piano Course - Book 1

When I was a kid, I learned to play piano using the John Thompson books. Haven't played for years. I only bought this songbook because there wasn't one for 2nd grade, which is my comfort level, and I wanted some popular songs to play. Since this isn't a learning book, IMO all the songs should be at least mid-1st grade and that was what I expected when I bought the book. However, the first couple of songs (out of only 12 total) are for one-hand only, which isn't any fun at all, and the rest...well, they're really, really easy.

I'm quite impressed. I think a lot of adult learners will like this. It is quite up to date and has a number of "duet" options on the pages.The level is early beginner to "First Grade" thereby being a nice addition to various other books.

These are popular pieces of the 70's and 80's mostly and some movie themes.The content is completely different from the regular 'John Thompson Popular Piano Solos First Grade', with only 2 common songs between them. This is a great book for an adult beginner and it got me using both hands right from the startEach piece you play teaches you something new and you feel you are progressing wellI did find some of the pieces in the back of the book too hard hence the 4 starshowever i will be buying book 2 very soon
