I initially tried using a passive cooler, as I’ve done with all my Raspberry Pi models so far (I own everything from 1 to 4). However, the Raspberry Pi 5 is noticeably more powerful, and a passive cooler alone won’t suffice. Keep in mind that the fans on these coolers are very small and tend to be noisy when running at maximum speed. Additionally, they don’t last very long—especially if your Raspberry Pi isn’t kept at a horizontal or vertical orientation. Usually after about a year and a half, the fans start to make noise.This is my second fan replacement, and I don’t have high expectations for its longevity either. That said, you can buy replacement fans separately later on if needed.When installing the cooler, pay attention to the placement and height of the thermal pads. You may need to adjust them slightly. Also, take note of the height differences between the chips themselves. For optimal cooling, you might need to use thinner or thicker thermal pads depending on the situation.

Ich bin Neuling und habe meinen Rasperry Pi 5 geschenkt bekommen, ich gehe jetzt mal davon aus, dass alle Pi 5 identisch sind. Ich habe diesen Lüfter ohne Probleme installieren können, ich persönlich finde ihn auch leise. Vor diesem Hintergrund kann ich diesen Lüfter empfehlen.

Before this I had the fan in the canakit case which was very quiet. I had to get this one due to a HAT addon to and this fan is annoying noisy... sounds like dry bearings/whine. can barely feel any air movement. lame.
