I have had great luck with these strings. Put them on an old Martin soprano uke that was too small for me to play with regular uke chords. The mandolin chords are much easier (most of them) on this short scale. Also I like the expanded range compared to the regular uke strings. And the chords sound sweeter. I wonder if some of the folks having problems with the string breakage are not using concert ukes which have a longer scale length. My soprano uke has a scale length of 13-3/4 inches. I am also planning on putting these on a concert uke but tuning them 3 half-steps lower (E B F# C#).

Arrivano nella bustina che si vede in foto, sono arrotolate tutte insieme, ma hanno i colori per distinguerle, come da descrizione. Dopo dieci giorni posso dire che tengono molto bene l'accordatura ed il suono risulta molto più brillante rispetto ad altri marchi. Prendete queste che le altre sono spazzatura.

Ich habe die Saiten für die Ukulele meiner Schwester gekauft. Ich komme aus der Gitarrenwelt, somit hatte ich hier nur eigeschränkt Ahnung, was ich kaufen sollte. Die Saiten schauen aus wie ganz normale Nylonsaiten. Meine Schwester findet sie glaub ich sehr gut, sie hat sich noch nie über wehtuende Finger beklagt, somit denke ich, dass die Saiten eher auf der low-tension Seite liegen. Klingen tun sie auch toll und haben bis jetzt noch keine sichtbaren Makel (am 18.11. gekauft, jetzt ist es der 25.01.).

Permet un accordage avec la corde de Sol une octave plus bas. Donc accordé en G3 C4 E4 A4 au lieu de G4 C4 E4 A4. Cela augmente la tessiture de 5 notes et permet de créer un son plus profond et plus chaud. Cela facilite le jeu soliste et l’exécution des gammes par une logique qui se rapproche de la guitare. De plus, les cordes sont de bonne qualité et sonnent mieux que les autres modèles que j’ai testé.

Corde fantastiche, dopo mesi di utilizzo alternato tra l'ukulele con queste corde e un altro con altre corde, ancora suonano perfettamente, tengono l'accordatura e non creano nessun tipo di problema, assolutamente consigliate

Ho montato le corde su un ukulele concerto e le ho accordate in GDGD (se e quando le accorderò in GDAE aggiornerò la recensione), suonano molto bene e sembrano tenere l'accordatura anche a solo qualche ora dal cambio di corde. La consegna è avvenuta in un giorno nonostante non la aspettassi prima di 4 (secondo le stesse indicazioni del venditore), quindi è stata una piacevole sorpresa. Come al solito questo venditore non delude.

Queste corde made in Italy (Aquila è una azienda vicentina) riescono a far suonare bene anche gli ukulele da poche decine di euro!Possiedo un ukulele che pagai 50€, non ha mai suonato un granché, ma dopo essere stato consigliato dal mio negoziante di strumenti musicali (contro il suo interesse visto che lui non le vende e potrebbe avermi dato qualche altra marca), mi sono letto vari articoli e recensioni online che ne declamavano l'alta qualità sonora.Dopo averle messe sul mio ukulele super-economico non posso che confermare quello che si dice in giro!Per la fase di montaggio ho seguito un tutorial su Youtube, all'inizio perdono un po' l'accordatura perché devono stabilizzarsi (conviene tirarle una volta montate) ma una volta sistemate suonano una meraviglia

My wife recently took up the Ukulele but was becoming frustrated by the constant tuning and re-tuning of the factory strings.No matter how often we tuned the Ukulele the strings would not hold their pitch for longer than a few minutes. At first I though the problem was the tuning knobs on the Ukulele but after a couple days it was clear the problem was the strings - not the tuning knobs.I've been a guitar player for more than 30 years so I know a lot about guitar strings but this was the first set of Ukulele strings I've every purchased.Prior to purchasing this Aquila set of strings, I did some research and discovered that some of the expensive, higher end, concert quality Ukulele's come pre-strung with Aquila Nylgut strings so I thought I'd give them a try.Re-stringing a Uke is very similar to re-stringing a guitar. Each string is marked with a color so they can be easily identified. If you don't know the sting layout the Bottom String on the Ukulele is called the first string (1) and is A. The #2 string is E, #3 is C and the Top #4 String is G.After installing the Aquila strings I noticed an immediate difference in the sound quality from my wife's inexpensive Ukulele. The new strings didn't transform my wife's Ukulele into a concert Uke but they did sound brighter and more vibrant than the original factory strings. The Aquila strings were smoother and stiffer than the factory strings but the biggest improvement with the Aquila strings was the ability for them to hold their tone and pitch much better and longer than the original strings. My wife would have to re-tune her Ukulele constantly with the old strings (I'm talking every couple minutes) With these new strings she can play for a half an hour or more without going out of tune. When the Aquila strings do go out of tune, they only go out of tune slightly and only need a slight adjustment to get back into tune, the factory strings were like elastics and would go out of tune to the point of changing the key entirely, not just sharp or flat a little.Overall I'm very impressed with these strings and highly recommend them. If you haven't replaced the factory strings on your Ukulele yet ... DO IT! For under $10 these strings will make your Uke sound better and more enjoyable to play without the constant hassle of re-tuning.

dopo aver provato le Super Nylgut e le D'Addario Carbon, ho deciso di provare per bene anche le New Nylgut. le avevo testate su un Makala Dolphin e brevemente sul mio Ohana SK38 (ma ahimè il Mi era fallato), e non mi erano dispiaciute.il suono è estremamente brillante, MA non molto chiaro e squillante: per spiegarlo più a fondo, il suono delle New Nylgut è molto scavato sulle medie frequenze, ricco di basse e di alte; ne risulta quindi un suono sì brillante, sì "pieno", ma che nelo strumming non fa uscire chiaramente le note, rende l'accordo più "vago" e meno chiaro, e su certi accordi non è il massimo, perchè li rende rimbombanti.le consiglierei su strumenti economici molto poveri di basse frequenze, che gioveranno di questa "potenza".con tutti i set che ho avuto di Aquila (tre di SN, due di NN), su tre bassi diversi, ho notato intonazione poco precisa, che con le D'Addario Carbon è invece perfetta.la tensione di queste corde è molto bassa, quindi possono far uscire fuori fritture/buzz assenti con altri set di corde. occhio quindi al setup dello strumento.dò quattro stelle solo perchè, rispetto ad altre marche di corde, le Aquila sono "giuste" per la scala dello strumento, lasciando che avanzi poca corda.altre marche ormai, a più o meno lo stesso prezzo, offrono set "doppi", con corde abbastanza lunghe per ottenere due mute.

For me these strings served two purposes, they gave use (and new life) to a "semi-retired" instrument and allowed me to appraise the concept of playing a mandolin without having to buy a mandolin ... and they work! Super tone, stable tuning (once they're "stretched in") and access to a whole hatful of fiddle and mandolin arrangements for very little money ... can't go wrong. If you've got a "spare" soprano ukulele, you need a set of these strings ... if you haven't got a spare ukulele, buy one ;)
