the combo for whatever reason changed on me after the last time I opened and locked it. I had to cut it open with a sheet metal shears

When I received this lock it was set on zeros. I thought the lock was open but it wasn’t. So to open the lock I tumbled all the zeros back around again to zeros and it opened. Of course I didn’t want to leave it on all zeros, so I changed the combination.I didn’t want to change it to something that anyone who knew me could figure out, like my Birthdate, my Address, or when I got Married. Instead I used the Season and Episode of when a Singing Group I liked appeared on “American Bandstand”. Something I’m not likely to forget. The thing with this lock is, like all mechanical things it has its own issues. Sometimes I can open it. Sometimes I can’t. When I can’t open it I default back to the zeros and start again. It does not open on the zeros. I do it that way because it is simpler for me to open the lock again. I just tried what I said and sure enough I had to go back and try my combination about three times before I got the lock open again.I noticed, too, that when the lock is closed the tumbles have to be turned to lock the lock. So I wouldn’t suggest just closing it. I bought this lock to fit on a small luggage that I bought about two and a half years ago. It came with a lock that is so flimsy it could be picked with a hairpin. I bought a small lock years ago for a locker. But it’s a key lock.I’ve decided to take this lock with me on my trip but I’m not going to use it on my luggage unless I have to check it in, which I doubt because by it being small I can place in the overhead. I like this lock. It fits through the lock holes on my luggage perfectly. I wouldn’t suggest buying this lock to fit a less than 4mm hole. How did I figure that out? I used a Bead Chart.
