I’m a pro photographer and have been looking for an upgrade and a move away from the super heavy metal mounts. This mount is super strong, great materials, easy to take on / off, and the big movement and the fine tune movement of the mount is just awesome. I use this with a Canon R5 and have used it with the new 70/200 lenses and even a 100/500 lens (SUPER HEAVY) and it’s no problem for this thing. Buy buy buy!!

I think I'm in love and haven't even used it yet.Because, as a real estate photographer, I need to angle just right. While I am waiting on my Benro GD3WH in the shop, I bought this as spare. I couldn't deal with my ball head beyond one property shoot for the constant adjustments I require moving from room to room. It's a good head, fine for other stuff, but I gotta move, and that means nonstop leveling. I can't wait to use this Manfrotto! The pan/tilt/rotate levers are brilliant. The Benro is going to be my spare. No rush to get it back. Its tempermental knobs can be hard to twist (which is why it's in the shop). Here, no twisting, just squeeze and voilá. Smooth.

The tripod head works as advertised, and will allow photographers with fairly long lenses to make fine adjustments and precisely frame a distance shot. With three axis rotation you can get the camera parallel or perpendicular, your choice. The head seems to be intended for macro work, so I had to mount my camera backwards to get high elevation. The only, minor, drawback is that it was hard to access the battery compartment with the camera in place because the mount itself is a bit bulky.Edited 3/13/2022:The pitch axis adjustment gear developed a bit of play, and I've heard of this happening to others. If you have a 10mm socket, a T20 Torx, and a small screwdriver, you can adjust the "lash" in the gears. Pop the small rubber cover off the housing opposite the adjustment handle with the play in it and you will find a 10mm (approximately, but close enough) nut on a shaft, and if you tighten this nut just a bit the play in the gear can be adjusted out. If you need more or less drag adjust the T20 screw tension on the pivot point. Pretty simple to accomplish and the minor play in the gear head is now gone. I can't say whether this voids the warranty, but I'm happy with the results and now I don't have to go looking for a better gear head.
