This book, based on true events, changed me. What an insane turn of events for Saroo. It's mind blowing that this happened to someone and that it's only one of many stories alike in these countries. Highly recommend reading!

After watching the movie I was deeply intrigued about the book. I loved it. Much better and made me live this incredible story even deeper than the movie. Facts more in detail, extended descriptions … all of this made it -amazing.Great story, beautifully told. The only “to improve” thing is - book cover. Movie actor is not the “story teller”. So for sure I would love to see more authentic and unique cover for such a great book. That’s the only “to improve” thing that I can highlight. All the rest is simply fantastic!

This book is about the life of Saroo Brierley narrated by himself. The story begins with when and how, when he was 5 years-old, his entire life changed in one night. He lived with his mother, his two brothers and his sister in India, in extremely poor conditions. Her mother was working six days a week, morning until the night, to carry rocks. His brothers were helping their mother by working somewhere else near a train station. One day, Saroo asked his eldest brother, Guduu, to take him with him. He also wanted to help them with their work. Guduu accepted to take him but the only problem was that it was during the night. When they arrived at the train station at night, Saroo was so sleepy that Guduu left him on a bench to sleep and told him to not move and that he will come back later after work.Saroo woke up during that night and was scared that he couldn't see his brother near him. Just in front of him, there was a stationary train. He stepped in and thought that Guduu will find him in that train later. Instead, he fell asleep and the train started to move on.This day changed his life. In this book, Saroo narrates his adventure and how he end up being adopted in Australia. 25 years later, he decided to find his family from India, even if he doesn't know exactly the name of his district.I really enjoyed reading this absolutely amazing book that describes how life is difficult, how things are not always as they should be, and how lucky we can be. I also saw the film who was recently released and it was so emotional. This book makes you think about your life and your values, and once you've read this book, it will be constantly on your mind.

Amazing, from beginning to end. I've been recommending it to all my reading friends. Don't want to give away the ending by adding more. Read it for yourselves.
