Even after installing the software that came with the product or the updates version from the manufacturer's web site, it did not work on a Windows 10 machine. Its not worth the money...

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem kleinen unauffälligen KM Umschalter für zwei PCs. Die Umschalter mit Monitorfuktion haben mich nicht so recht überzeugt da die entweder Platz auf dem Schreibtisch brauchen und teilweise nur bis 1920x1200 gehen. Außerdem ist bei mir meist eh nur einer der beiden Rechner aktiv kann man die unterschiedlichen Monitoreingänge (DVI, DP, HDMI) auf die Rechner verteilen. Da bei mir meist nur einer der beiden Rechner aktiv ist habe ich mir die Software gespart und schalte mit der vorgegebenen Tastenkombination um. Der Lindy KM Switch erfüllt dafür genau seinen Zweck und fügt sich unauffällig ins Kabelgewirr hinter dem Schreibtisch ein ohne viel Platz zu benötigen.Leider gibt es keine automatische Umschaltung auf den aktiven Rechner wenn nur einer der beiden Rechner an ist. Auch ist der Preis m.E. zu hoch und ich hatte den mir nur gekauft als es den als günstigen WHD Angebot gab. Auch ist das Kabel recht dünn und ungeschirmt und der Stecker sitzt nicht so fest wie andere USB Stecker. Manchmal "verliert" der Rechner Tastatur & Maus. Dann muß man den Switch kurz aus- und wieder einstöpseln.Die Vorteile überwiegen jedoch eindeutig und somit vergebe ich dafür 5 Sterne.

I bought this for an unusual computer set-up fully aware it might not actually work for me and was very surprised to find it works perfectly using hotkeys only, which was all I really wanted! It also works when the keyboard is a vintage IBM PS/2 model connected via a USB to PS/2 active keyboard converter, as sold elsewhere on Amazon.My set-up is a PC running Linux connected to dual monitors via one set of monitor inputs and another PC running FreeBSD connected to the other set of inputs. Using the input select switches on the monitors, I can either use both monitors with one PC or the other, or have a split mode with one monitor on each PC side-by side, using this Lindy KM switch to switch keyboard & mouse between the two. Being able to switch to another PC by moving the mouse from one monitor to the other when using split mode, as you can with Windows or Mac OS, would have been nice but 3 key presses is just as easy and I'm happy with that, The LEDs on the switch give a clear indication of which PC is currently selected.I'm very pleased with this switch and am thinking of buying another for use in my office at work.Update 2023: I've since bought quite a few of these KM switches since i work with multiple UNIX-type systems but still have finite desk space in the places I work in, so need to limit the number of keyboards & mice. Very very occasionally, about 2 or 3 times a year, the KM switch stops switching using the keyboard sequence but unplugging both USB cables from their respective PCs and reconnecting always resolves this. A brilliant product!

Pratico e semplice da usare. Cavi di collegamento decisamente lunghi e pratici, permettono di collegare i due pc anche ad una distanza di 1,5m. Consigliato!

L'ho appena comprato e funziona perfettamente: veloce nel passaggio da un computer all'altro, e funzionano anche bene gli hot keys.

Funzionare funziona però se uno dei PC è spento appena si arriva sul bordo del desktop che corrisponde al passaggio sull'altro PC il puntatore si blocca e bisogna riprenderne il controllo tramite hot-keys. Purtroppo la cosa succede più spesso di quello che si pensi perchè muovendo il mouse è facile sfiorare il bordo e ritrovarsi senza controllo del PC.

Pour ma part, la notice n'est pas claire. pour passer de l'une à l'autre unité centrale, il faut comprendre appuyer 2 fois de suite sur la touche "ARRET DEFIL" et sur le 1 ou 2 du pavé numérique (pour le choix de l'ordi). Si les 2 ordis sont allumés et que vous décidez en éteindre un, pas de crainte, même procédé appuyer 2 fois de suite sur la touche "ARRET DEFIL" et sur le 1 ou 2 du pavé numérique. Le fait d'éteindre une unité centrale, garde le système actif, mais compter un petit temps d'attente. Pour ma part, je suis 100% satisfait, et je ne suis pas sûr que l'on soit obligé d'installer le CD. j'ai relier un PC SEVEN et un PC WIN8 sans aucun problème

Lo switch impiega qualche secondo, spesso e volentieri si blocca il controllo per cambiare lo schermo (due volte ctrl non funziona). Non ha un tasto per lo switch manuale, la qualità del video è scarsa.Allo stesso prezzo se ne può prendere uno ATEN.

Buon prodotto, fa quello che deve senza troppi fronzoli. Con tastiera e mouse USB si possono utilizzare due PC con lo stesso monitor.
