Un défaut de fabrication est visible, impossible de le retirer, il est incrusté dans la masse.

Bought this to replace a damaged vintage 1 ply pickguard on my 1978 USA made Strat that was originally white along with the body back in 1978, but changed color as all of them have. I couldn't find anything in a 1 ply or even a 3 ply to match the color with this 11 hole pickguard. This replacement was the closest match. Not bad but a 3 ply none the less. The main problem with this was the pickguard did not fit on the guitar from top to bottom between the bridge and the heel of the neck, it was too long top to bottom. And the holes being way off to begin with, was made even worse by this problem. To resolve, I used a series of small curved and round files to shave off material and deepen the cutout for the heel of the neck until it fit from top to bottom. A painstaking process and it wouldn't have been hard to ruin it. But I was successful. This made the hole alignment closer but still way off except for the top left hole which lined up with the hole on the body, and one hole on one side of the bridge, more or less. I used these to secure the pickguard and this left the rest of the holes in the body visible through the pickguard holes. I could see half the hole in the body for each, and this was enough to get the screws in and tighten them down without having to first fill and then re-drill the body holes, which I definitely did not want to do to this vintage Strat. To give credit where it is due, the pickguard looks great on this guitar because of its overall quality material and finish. It is because of this apparent quality that I decided to move forward and modify it. Which is the reason it didn't get 5 stars. I wanted to give 3 stars but it looks so great that I couldn't bring myself to knock it that much. But I could see others giving it 1 star and returning it for this issue, particularly if one doesn't have the tools or skill required to fix it. Overall it looks striking with the black outline appearance.

I was hoping that I didn't have to drill any new holes - this fit perfectly. it's a little less stiff and heavy than the one that it replaced. the original top PG had been replaced with one of those sparkly mother of toilet seat ones, but they previous owner left the back plate. this aged white set (cream) almost matched it in color. sweet!
