Introduction:My Kahrs floor was installed around 18months ago and oiled by the installer. It was long over due a maintenance oil, with several patches looking quite thirsty. The installer told me that a second oil would help take the floor into the future and after that it should need oiling every few years. He also mentioned that the way to check if it needs oiling was to "look at the dust". If vacuuming/sweeping no longer picks up the dust, it's time for an oil. Makes sense really as raw/dry wood will hold crumbs and dust more. The Process:I've been planning the oil for a little time, making sure I had plenty of time to do the job properly and dry. We are a busy house with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 kids. Oily paws or fur stuck to the floor was not an option. For my 40 sqm I'd say the overall process took around 2-3 hours, and was dry in about the same (read on).Following removal of all the small furniture a proper vacuum and de floofing, first up I used  B0036TGO0M Method Wood Floor Cleaner . This stuff is easy to use and provides a good clean without residue. Following instructions I used about 20% of a bottle for my 40 sqm. I let the floor dry for around 30 minutes. The oiling was super simple with the provided tool and pads. I also watched a few Youtube videos for tips. The best one was about removing excess. So here's what I did:- Slosh some oil onto an area that you can manage with the spreading tool. I used around a tablespoon per sqm but once you get started you get a sense for how thirsty the floor is and how much excess you take off.- Circular movements to work in the oil and spread it out, overlapping with your previous area.- Finally with a fresh dry cloth, wipe along the grain to take off the excess. This was the best advice I read. It really stops the stickiness and speeds up the dry. Much better to have to do 2 thin coats that have one sticky thick coat.- I used about 50% of a can for my 40sqmIt now looks lovely and has dried in a few hours without issue. We were walking on it without residue (in socks) after around 4 hours, and after leaving it overnight it was perfect.Great product, great tool, but maybe consider investing in some knee pads. My 43YO knees got a little bruised being on them so much!

Applied this to a brand new wooden floor and it made a real difference. The floor now has a light sheen (not too shiny). The wool pad made application easy. I used a spray to apply the oil which made it very easy and quick. The instructions on the tin say leave to dry for 5 hours (and my floor dried in this time), however the Kahrs website says 12 hours. It is smelly so you need to ventilate well.
