JOBY’s swing phone mount kit can create a smooth sliding video and perfect motion time-lapses in any situation using a smartphone. This swing mount is an app-controlled electronic slider that is ideal for creators who use their smartphones. It is lightweight, robust, travel-friendly and can withstand a weight capacity of 600 grams or 1.3 lbs. It can be mounted on a RangePod Smart or other full-size supports using the standard ¼"-20 mounting point.Since it can be controlled by an app, you need to download the JOBY Motion app. Just connect the swinger to your device’s Bluetooth and you can now create content that doesn't look like everyone else's. Take note that this one is also rechargeable via a USB-C cable and a power source. To be honest, this is a bit pricey but it works exactly as the brand is claiming. It works perfectly on a horizontal surface but not really on inclined ones. It is very lightweight, portable and very easy to set up anywhere. Quality-wise, it looks well made and doesn’t feel cheap even though it is lightweight. All in all, this is a great product but a little bit expensive.

This seems like a cool accessory for adding professional motion and time-lapse effects to vlogs and other videos, equipped with nothing more than a smartphone. What you get is a portable motorised slider, and if you opt for the mount kit, a phone mount bracket that attaches to the slider. You can also get a kit that includes a GorillaPod flexible tripod, but I just got the mount kit; the slider has a standard screw for attaching a tripod so if you have something suitable you are good to go.The slider is charged via a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable is supplied (though no charger). There isn't much in the way of instructions, just a brief leaflet with inadequate diagrams, and a couple of QR codes for downloading the companion app and viewing a tutorial. There is also a warning notes that "optical image stabilization technology in your smartphone may affect output created with the JOBY motion app."I found the slider quite fiddly to set up. When you attach the tripod or the phone mount you slide a lock button towards the mount and hold it there while tightening the screw, then release it to lock. It works when everything is just so, but getting to that point can be awkward. The other thing I soon discovered is that little mini-tripods do not cut it, and I would even suggest that the GorillaPod is not ideal. A proper tripod with sturdy legs and tight locking is what you need here, since the slider is rather ungainly and needs to be held as firmly as possible.Connecting the app to the slider is easy, but a snag with this setup is that the app runs on the smartphone which is of course attached to the slider so it is inherently an awkward arrangement. I did not enjoy the app and would not describe it as user friendly; I longed for some proper precise documentation but all you get is a video tutorial. Essentially you set a start point and a finish point, reset the device to the start point, and hit a button to preview or record your video or a sequence of photos. A lot depends on the Joby app successfully integrating with your Smartphone camera and its associated app, and in the case of my iPhone I wasn't sure that this was working 100% as expected and struggled to get successful results. Most seriously, I got juddery videos when using the rear camera, possibly due to the OIS problem mentioned in the leaflet. Oddly it worked better with the front camera than the rear, perhaps because the front camera does not have OIS.In the right circumstances and with the perfect smartphone you may be able to do magic with this device, but I did not get on well with it. The device is made in partnership with Syrp which has some neat technology but this is very basic compared to the admittedly more expensive Syrp offerings and lacks features like keyframing. Caution advised.

A camera Slider that fits in your Pocket? WOW.This device is literally a little pocket B-ROLL Monster lol.Positives:- Liked the smooth momentum the device has when rotating left or right.- It can rotate a full 360- It is perfect for taking product shots.- It can take the weight of small mirrorless cameras as well as phones - for example, it was easily able to work with my Sony ZVe10 w/ Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens attached.- It can be controlled wirelessly but a phone app.- the phone app has lots of different rotation speeds and settingsNegatives:- You can ONLY control the device via the wireless phone app.- The controls to move the device can feel clunky if your phone is on the slider already- Only good for sliding if the horizon is balanced- motors are not powerful enough to slide a camera upwards if it is on a diagonal incline.

Personally, i don't like this. it vibrates which ruins stability and the application is annoying.I really wanted to like this, but i'm disappointed.
