I was looking for an alternative to the branded Cyrus extender and found just what I needed. Great quality, does the job perfectly and far cheaper than Cyrus' offering. Highly recommend!

Heutzutage werden XLR-Verbinder mit 5 Leitern hauptsächlich für DMX verwendet. Immer noch sind aber XLR3- und XR5-Verbinder (Einbau oder Kabel) im Audiobereich weltweit die erste Wahl.Dabei steht die Belegung für dreipolige XLR bei symmetrischer Leitungsführung fest:1 = Schirm, 2 = a-Leiter, 3 = b-Leiter.Die fünfpoligen XLR-Verbinder haben aber zwei "Normen": Einmal kann der Schirm wie beim Monokabel an 1 liegen. Dann liegt Links an 2 und 3 und Rechts an 4 und 5. Das ist auch die Empfehlung des IRT.Eine "übersichtlichere" Belegung für zwei symmetrische (also zwei Leiter pro Kanal) Leitungen ist aber:Schirm unten in der Mitte an 3, 1 und 2 ist Links, 4 und 5 ist Rechts.Dieses Kabel hält sich an die Empfehlung des IRT. Wer die zweite Alternative im Studio nutzt, muß löten und neu verbinden.Die Kabelschirmung ist ausreichend: Kupfergeflecht, aber nicht mit 100 % Deckung, wie im Studio üblich. Dafür aber zusätzlich eine Folie.

I actually bought this not realizing it was a 5-pin cable. I saw XLR and assumed it would work with my microphones, then realized very quickly that it was not what I needed. So I wasn't able to test out the functionality in that sense, but I could still get a good sense of the build quality. The cable feels relatively strong and well made. The cord is a braided material, so depending on your usage, that may be good or bad for you.I tested the clips by clipping the ends to each other, and found that it took a little bit of extra effort to clip it on and off, but once it was on it stayed connected very well. So all in all, it seems like a good cable if you need a 5-pin cable.

Really well made cable. Works with DMX lighting systems very well.
