I'm loving this desktop boom stand. When I started making a lot of voice content on my PC, I purchased a small desktop mic stand. Well it served me well for years, I wished I would have splashed out just a bit more for one of those fancy booms.I got this product and it didn't come with any directions to put it together. It was easy enough to assemble, but make sure the clamp snaps into place with the base. It's pretty simple to figure out. What surprises me is how much space this clears on my desktop! I have two pictures for comparison: one without my old mic stand, and another with it in there. You can see how this just frees up the entire corner of the desk, and does a better job of keeping the microphone out of the way. That's a win-win!I'm happier than expected with this product, and it is very well made in packaged. If you're looking for a desktop microphone stand, consider this one. Looking at the packaging, I wondered if it would come with a shock mount for a microphone, be warned it does not. I still think it's a great deal at the price they're asking.

I ordered the IX-MI06 Large microphone stand. I have a USB microphone with a swivel mount connected by a standard microphone screw that I connected to this. The stand itself came in a nice retail box with padding inside that kept everything neat and tidy. Instructions were included which were so so as it assumes you've already put the clamp inside the top portion. I say so-so because you kinda have to jam the clamp into the base which wasn't obvious at first on how much force was needed. Other than that - it's a simple assembly.I attached the clamp to the rear of my desk and inserted the adjustable arm into the clamp and tightened it down. It reaches over my monitor which is mounted on an arm. My desk depth is 24", my monitor arm is 5 or 6" to the bottom of my monitor and I'm using a 27" monitor (3 of them) so it was able to clear all of that and get up next to my face.I do need a longer usb cable now though. The length of the arm from base to first joint is about 2 feet and it's just short of 2 feet for the second section that connects to the microphone.I don't use my microphone all the time so it easily pushes off to the side out of the way.The only issue I have is how the microphone attaches to the mount. There is a metal rod connected to the microphone screw adapter and that last piece seems to loosen easily if I adjust the microphone or rather if I rotate it when moving it. Most people won't probably want to move it much but I do reposition myself and it can cause the whole thing to get loose and need to be re-tightened. It's a better setup than one I used on another device but it's still not 100% ideal.

This is a solid value if you need a microphone boom arm for your streaming or recording or podcasting setup. It's very sturdy, easy to setup and seems solid when in use. My first attempt to connect a mic to this failed, as I tried a JLab Go microphone, which I usually use for conference calls and normally is on a small tripod that it came with. But the mount on the JLab Go wouldn't fit. I then tried a JLab Pro mic and it fit perfectly. I suspect the earlier mic mount has gotten stripped from the included tripod, so I wouldn't count that against this stand. Range of motion was good, but not as smooth as a professional mic boom arm, of course. The mic seemed solidly in place when in use and I like the way this looks. My only issue is more of a warning. There are two bars on either side of the bending joint and when you adjust the position of the arm the two arms move closer together or further apart depending on whether you're looking at the top part or the bottom. This creates a finger pinching hazard, so I advise paying close attention when moving the boom around or you might painfully regret it. I also wouldn't leave this mounted if I had children at home, since it looks like a fun object to play with and I'd be worried about them getting injured. The photo shows a close-up of the top of the boom arm with a microphone attached so you can get an idea of how wide the opening gets.

Beautiful beginner mike-boom. My husband has started streaming and we were looking for one that wasnât expensive but gets the job done and this one is this. This was very easy to set up. I watched my husband put it together in 30mins and most of that time was just situating the wires. There is a tunnel down the spine of the mike arm to guide the wires down to help hide them. It holds his mike beautifully. Heâs able to move the arm around effortlessly. We havenât had any issue with it. My husband has been using it DAILY for the last three weeks and he is absolutely obsessed with it. We do plan to upgrade to a low profile one in the future but not anytime soon. This one you can see the mic if you are doing a face cam! That is NOT an issue for most but if you are looking for one that sits below the cam. I wouldnât recommend this one. But if that isnât an issue. I HIGHLY recommend this one! Especially if youâre a beginner, looking for a second Mike stand or need a temporary one. This is perfect for that. It doesnât feel extra light and breakable. This Mike boom feels like, as long as you treat it respectfully, it will last you a very long time. The directions that came in the box are helpful and explain everything you need to know about setting it up. Itâs affordable and extremely well made.

I've had a few mic arms in the past and this one seems a little weaker than others. My Mic is a little on the heavier side, but not much heavier than most. And it seems with the slightest movement, the arm falls and can't support the weight of the Mic to stay in position. This is pretty frustrating and I can't seem to find any way to adjust the tension. The arm also lacks any sort of cable management. There are no hooks and no wire straps that came with the arm, so that was disappointing. The base and lower part of the arm that attaches to the base seem sturdy and well built, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. I was hoping for more :(
