The book met my expectations

This is for vocalists only - or other C instruments. I bought it without realising this. I play a Bb instrument so it was unsuitable. Was able to return it unused.Be careful if you are not a singer!

I saw the description of this volume - 24 standard arrangements in keys suitable for female vocalists - prefect, I thought - just what I have been looking for, expecting the usual Jamey Aebersold arrangements on Concert, Bb, Eb & Bass transpositions with lead sheet for each. I wanted to be able to have a group of students lean & play some of these numbers with the option of having a vocalist along too.BIG MISTAKE - These arrangements are in CONCERT ONLY - and that is NOT made clear on any of the descriptions.The backing tracks are great - good time feel, good selection of tracks, nice selection of different tempos - so, all in all a good addition to the play-along series - but I cant accompany my vocalist on Saxophone without transposing.I know the Aebersold arrangements are meant to be for educational purposes - but had hoped to avoid honing those skills so I'm disappointed.

The book comes with piano bass drums background tracks. It would be nice if Jamey would add a reference track for vocalist to follow for the proper style.
