Got the 40 watt version to use on a bicycle with a battery pack and not a motorcycle; anyways, they seem to be of decent quality but there's a few things that could be better. There is a gasket on the front of the lights around the lens but there's no gasket in the middle where the circuit board resides (See pic) and when water gets in there it will corrode everything on the circuit leading to failure. Upon testing these lights at different voltages the wattage consumed was nothing close to 40 watts of power. At 12 volt regulated, one light by itself pulled 1.38 Amp which equals 16 watts. At 24 volts it pulled 660ma which is also right at 16 watts of power. After about 10 minutes or so at a regulated voltage of 14.4 which is what most vehicle charging systems charge to, the amperage fell to around 1.01 amps which is about 14.5 watts. The housing of the light was sitting around 162°F at an ambient temperature of 73°F. You can be burned if you where to touch these lights long enough but at 162°F that won't take long. The screws supplied with the lights to mount to a round bar are a bit too long and the one towards the front of the light bottoms out on the housing not allowing the clamp to close all the way. The light produced is a nice straight beam of light like a strong flashlight; great for seeing far away. Two of these on a bike will definitely light the way!

Great for a project, or better than nothing. These lights are decent and throw off a decent amount of light, but by no means are they in the same ballpark as the high end lights from trusted name brands in off road igniting and accessories. Metal is thin, construction is cheap. Output is moderate. You get what you pay for here.
