I purchased this changeover switch to provide mains or battery inverter power to my boiler feed in times of power loss. The cables are just two live and neutrals in and a live and neutral out with the earth permanently wired. There is hardly space to squeeze the cables and switch into the box and if not careful they could be pulled out of connection. The wiring grid for 1 and 2 selections was not accurate and I needed to meter out both selections to avoid shorts or backfeeds with 8 out of 12 being wrong. The switch works fine once in place and the zero position is definitely off on all contacts which is a relief. There were only just enough contact variations to achieve my requirements if you need more this is not the switch for you.
