We have an Echo Dot 2nd Gen located towards the hallway of our home, which we use to set the alarm or turn any lights on or off before leaving the house. However, it was placed on the shelf of a recessed wall beside the stairs, as the cable was too short for us to place on our hallway unit. I actually didn't realise that a solution existed until I came across this extended cable and immediately placed the order.With 10ft of cable, it has plenty of length to place the Echo wherever we want. The cable is solid and looks identical to the original aside from the colour, which is a light grey, but the thickness of the cable seems the same. It’s worked quite well, and luckily, it matched the skirting, so I was able to clip the cable around and place the Echo where we wanted.The cable also offers the convenience of using the Echo outdoors in the backyard for parties or a BBQ, making it easy to play music playlists and control lighting.
