Everything apart from food needed to help make your preparation of Italian meals I would say. A rather nifty looking pizza cutter along with a spaghetti server. This also has the gap in the middle for your portion of spaghetti so no other measures needed for the right amount of spaghetti. Also a cheese grater easy to hold and no grazed knuckles either which is always a bonus I find. All the three items are dishwasher proof and would be useful and at home in any kitchen I would think. Would make a good house/flat warming gift idea as the items all come boxed together too.

This set contains a Spaghetti Spoon, Grater and Pizza Slicer. The first thing which I instantly noticed was the random choice of colours - the set is described as being mixed colours, which would be fine if mixed colours didn't then mean shades of grey for everything except for the handle of the Spaghetti Spoon which is a ghastly shade of cream. It makes it look like something I would find in my grandparents kitchen, when they could have kept it classy by maintaining the grey theme throughout (or alternatively, really bright colours throughout, like Joseph Joseph products).Putting aside the colour scheme, which I don't understand, there's nothing else which can be faulted with the Spaghetti Spoon or Grater. However, I did find the Pizza Slicer a bit cumbersome to use, as it requires an element of assembly i.e. take the blade out of its storage case and drop it into a slot on the edge of the storage case, before closing it all up again and using it on your pizza. Reverting back to my Joseph Joseph products, I have a pizza slicer where the blade just slides out and is much easier to use.On the plus side, everything is stated as being dishwasher safe, which does make the washing up a good deal easier.I appreciate this this set is currently being sold at a significant discount (selling price of £8.35) and it is only this that would tempt me to consider it. However, in reality, I would probably prefer to spend that little bit extra and get something that looks a bit more attractive (and I appreciate that looks aren't everything) but more importantly, have a Pizza Slicer which is a bit easier to use.

Brabantia are a brand that is associated with quality (for a price) and these utensils certainly fit the bill. Made from nice feeling, thick plastic they appear extremely robust. My favourite item is the parmesan cheese flaker, which is very easy to use, thanks to the form and sharp slicers. You can get a decent serving of hard cheese, in extremely thin flakes, in no time at all.The spaghetti spoon is also pretty handy and has become my go to pasta serving utensil. The portion measure integrated into it does a good job of sizing a reasonable portion.The pizza slicer is my least favourite item – it works well, with a sharp blade and easy grip handle, but just seems unnecessarily bulky in the cutlery drawer. The blade isn’t so sharp that it needs to be kept in a protective container, so I’m not quite getting the point here.All of these utensils have stood up to the dishwasher test, coming out unscathed after a fair few washes.I think, maybe cheekily, that this set would be a nice gift for a child who is leaving home for the first time (and likely to make and eat a fair quantity of pasta). Ideally, you’d want to equip yourself with a bunch of other Brabantia utensils in order for this set to truly make sense in your kitchen, but they’re subtle enough to not clash with other items, unless they’re made from metal.If you’re concerned about the amount of plastic we’re putting into our environment, however, these should probably be avoided.

This little Italian chef set is great.The spaghetti spoon has a nice built in measuring hole for portions of pasta, the pizza wheel is a random shape and a bit hard to use but this is all made up by the epic cheese grater.In fact it'll great anything really easily, it works so well I'd have paid for the whole set just to get it.All well made and recommended.5/5
