Having collected some rescue hens a couple of days ago, they are being kept separately from our existing hens to allow them to settle for a few days before introducing them. Some of them have bald necks and the water trough I had was a bit deep. This is perfect! Turn it upside down, fill with water, put the bottom on, twist to secure - no issues with this - and turn it over. Water fills the trough around the bottom and keeps the level until it runs out. Water level is visible through the plastic. Hens are loving drinking out of it! Maybe they think it has a red comb on its head too!! Thinking of replacing the trough the other hens have with another of these as it's so good, plus it isn't huge so with 9 hens, having 2 is probably a good idea when they are all together. Durability - early days yet so will have to see. The legs were a bit awkward to push on properly but all good so far.
