Robuste Mallets für jeglichen Gebrauch. Durch die sehr gute Ausbalancierung liegen sie auch nach längeren Sessions weiterhin gut in den Händen.

I thought these would have larger heads, but upon playing them i was very happily surprised. The bounce easily and the balance was exceptional. They are shira kashi oak which i normally play, so they instantly felt natural in my hand.

I had been using mallets that were a combination drumstick/mallet. Those were great for mallet work, but the design trade-offs for dual purpose use resulted in less than optimum balance. Plus, since I play traditional grip the left mallet felt awkward. These, on the other hand, are perfect in every sense. The feel and balance give me good control. They are heavier than most mallets because they are made from oak, which is denser and heavier. However, it's the slight contour in the shaft that I believe gives makes the difference and gives it the feel and balance that I love.Pro-Mark claims medium hardness on the felt end. I would say for felt they are a bit harder than claimed, but still soft enough to attenuate notes on both cymbals and drum heads. I love the feel, but you will probably need to try them in person to determine for yourself. For mallets I play matched grip, so the .6 inch diameter and relatively short length (14.25 inches) also add to the control I have when doing cymbal swells or playing tom patterns. In addition to using these as strikers I also use them to tame down wild, trashy new cymbals. This mainly applies to very thin jazz cymbals, which require play-in time. If you want to hasten the play-in process, mallet rolls is a common trick many of us use. This entails taking a pair of these mallets and rolling them around the cymbal for 20 minutes per day for a week or so. Start at the outside edge and work your way towards the bell, going around the circumference of the cymbal. If you are seeking a set of mallets that are truy multi-purpose for drum kits give these a serious look.
