Make sure you use A2 and B2 ram slots first otherwise you likely won't boot. At least that was my issue. The A1 and B1 slots still work, just not if I don't have the others filled first. Make sure you flash bios as well. Just download latest bios software off website, put on flash drive that is less than 20gb after formatting to fat32. Then put it in the usb slot marked "bios flbck." Plug everything in but don't power on. Push and hold the flash bios button underneath the usb slot you inserted your flash drive in until you see a green light flashing. This means it's downloading the bios. Just wait until it stops then power on after it stops. Hopefully this helps someone that has any issues..

I built my machine and all seemed to be okay for a day or two, then, in the middle of not doing anything in particular (just on the desktop, maybe watching a video in a window), the machine restarted-- no blue screen, no message of any kind; all of my screens went dark and then I had to wait for it to reboot. After finishing my profanity-laden rant, I went looking for answers-- I updated the BIOS, and I tested all of the individual components I could (CPU, GPU, RAM, disks, etc.) without producing any errors. The issue persisted-- very randomly. It didn't crash for 8 days at one point, then went back to 3x a day. I did research online and found that several people had issues that sounded like this with this mobo's sister mobo.I gambled that this mobo was the issue, so I bought a non-ASUS ASRock mobo and rebuilt the machine. So far, so good. One positive I can say about this board over my new one: this one has three PCIe slots (+ 1 PCIe x1), and they were spaced out enough that I could easily have my 4080 in place, as well as my Soundblaster, without any space issues. My new board (with only two slots) was way too snug, so I had to use a PCIe extender cable to relocate the soundcard.

Initial setup was frustrating with excessive memory training times and having to set the EXPO I profile to get a clean boot (the failsafe settings resulted in a no-post with 4 sticks of memory installed). I have this board running with a Ryzen 9 7950X and 4x Crucial 32GB 5200 sticks of RAM (128 GB total Crucial PN CMT64GX5M2B5200C40 ), from what's been published 128 GB on Ryzen 9 is complicated right now so I'm happy it's running and stable. I have and Arctic Freezer II mounted with no trouble and the motherboard supplies more than enough power to the 7950x to keep it pegged at the max out-of-box boost speed for days. On-board serial port is a nice addition.
