Purchased the item as I've been looking to get a water filter and a coffee machine (this ticked both boxes so made sense at the time)No issues with the filtered water, takes a little getting used to drinking compared to my tap water I'm used too, if you've recently made a hot drink the room temperature water will come out warm so be aware the water won't exactly be cold.The child lock button is annoying, feels like it takes forever to access the basic functions on the machine and requires a long hold on it.My biggest gripe is the filter coffee function. This machine doesn't deliver the flow of water correctly and it surpasses the filter in the pot which then means coffee debris ends up in the pot. I have raised this with the manufacturer and waiting to hear back from them. I've also ordered some size 6 filters to see if that makes any difference. Currently I'm brewing the coffee and then filtering it into a flask which is taking time every morning.Think I would have been better ordering separate water filter/coffee machine that do both jobs well.. live and learn!

Aqua Optima Aurora Filtered Coffee Machine & Instant Filtered Water DispenserDevice includes a replaceable water filter and allows you to either brew a carafe of coffee or individual hot drinks.Key points- filters are available on Amazon , ideally you replace every month- it has a large 3 litre tank at the bank, this can be removed or has a flap for filling in place- the coffee option has the filter holder fitted on top of the jug (rather than part of the machine), so it makes it a bit bulky to pour from- does have a keep warm option- if you just want hot water you can control the temperature from 40 to 100 degrees in stages and the volume from 200ml to 1000ml- control is via touchscreen an rotating control- it will dispense un-chilled filtered water- has an optional stand to avoid placing cups on the hot plateThe main limitations are- its bulky, and you need access to the back of the machine to a fill or remove the water tank, wont work on a kitchen surface with cabinets above- if you mainly want filtered coffee, the jug with filter on top is bulky and not that convenient- if you want a mixture of filtered coffee and hot drinks you need to keep moving the jug and inserting the shelf if the hotplate is onIf you mainly want hot instant drinks - teas, chocolate, instant coffee or un-chilled filtered water and have the space then its great (& has the useful bonus if you need to occasionally brew a coffee pot).Overall - not really suitable for me, as no obvious location to use it in my kitchen, and probably works best in a small office. 3 stars.

This coffee machine and hot water dispenser is a curious item that we have enjoyed using so far - but ultimately posed questions as to who it is really aimed at.It is a nicely designed and seemingly well-made item from a brand that we are familiar with - as we have one of their water filter jugs as well.There are two principal functions to this item - to dispense hot water, and to generate coffee through the drip-jug. You have a choice of differing preset temperatures from 40C right up to 100C in 5C increments, and in dispensed volumes ranging from 200ml up to 1 litre. If you are going down the coffee-making line of programming then the two upper-most presets with the jug symbol (1 litre or 1.25 litre) will also activate the hot plate at the base of the unit for 30 minutes to keep the resultant coffee warm for longer - but the intent is to have the coffee all done and dusted in that one event - as opposed to more typical office-grade drip coffee machines that are often kept on-the-go for longer periods - possible with two jugs that interchange position on the machine.To make ‘one cup’ of coffee you’re intended to still use the jug, just put enough coffee in the top with a filter paper, and then have it run one coffee-cup amount of water into the jug and decant the resultant coffee into your cup. This is the weird part in my opinion as it feels like a lot of effort to create one cup of coffee. So unless you’re making the full jug it’s probably excessive.As a result, we’ve generally found we have used this item more for convenient and fast hot water dispensing - so much so that we have temporarily done away with our kettle and it has worked surprisingly well. We also have a full bean-to-cup coffee machine and I don’t think this would replace that machine as that is able to dispense single cups of coffee ad-hoc with less fuss.If your specific scenario would work for this device then it could be handy, but for the average domestic user it might not be as practical from an ad-hoc coffee-making perspective.
