This device has been working now for a good few months. We use it to keep an eye on the pond temperature, and to notify if the pond level falls dangerously low. (which would imply a leak in the water circulation). Setup was fairly easy. The temp probe cable was a bit short - but that was of course fixable for a half confident hobbyist. I don't find the backend software reporting to be as useful as I'd like. But fundamentally I can recommend this, and the support team were very quick to answer my questions. Please note that the water level sensor is binary (Is there water/is there not water). The supplied sensor wasn't suitable for my needs so I replaced it with a much superior product. A very good little unit - slight room for improvements.

It was super simple to install and worked right away - took about 10 minutes, if that. Most of the time, when it comes to devices like this, there is some configuration and troubleshooting. Not the case with this one. I've been having issues with my sump clogging every so often, and this was a simple fix. Now, I can be alerted immediately once the water level hits the sensor's point. I definitely recommend it!

Device works great, notifications are sent to my email and SMS.Here is how to configure it out of the box.1. Go to MySpool.com and register for an account. An email will be sent to you, confirm it by clicking link2. Dip the water sensor end into water for a couple second (that kicks off the device setup)3. On computer or mobile, open WIFI and connect to the SASensor-####### (# denotes your device ID)4. Open webbrowser such as Chrome, Edge on your computer or mobile and in the address bar, type 10.10.4.15. Configure you 2.4ghz WIFI, click SAVE. NOTE: it will test that wifi and if it doesn't accept it, you will continue to see a SASensor-###### in your WIFI SSID list. If it accepts your WIFI, that will disappear.6. Log into your MySpool.com portal, click My Devices and you should see your device there now.7. Click on Configure Device, enter your email addresses, phone number and also click Advanced Setting to change notification intervalsKeep in mind, this unit requires your WIFI connection. The sensor device sends regular heartbeats back to the vendors servers with updates on water sensing alerts. If WIFI isn't working or if the device fails to call back at regular intervals, server marks missed heartbeats and will indicate it accordingly. For best practice, you may wish to have a UPS hooked up to this sensor and to your WIFI modem and router should your environment consider water monitoring a critical requirement (such as server rooms or basements where sump pumps are hooked up)Hope this helps.

Purchased for use around a basement sump pump. With the text and email alert function, I will be notified right away if the pump fails. Status can also be checked online from any location. Cost effective and easy to install

I'm going to cut to the chase and skip the boilerplate review - all you need to know is that this is an amazing device that will give you peace of mind, for pennies on the dollar, when you consider the potential damage you may incur in the absence of such a device. That said, it is not without its initial setup challenges, detailed and addressed below, but stick with it, because once it is 'one-and-done' on the installation front, you will be more than pleased.Pros:1. System is incredibly reliable. I had done multiple water tests along the way and this device came through each time.2. Tech support is without peer. They are that good. I don't dispense compliments easily, so for me to sing their praises is telling you something. No matter how complex, no matter how simple or mundane my question may have been, they have come through. And to think I almost passed on this device, because first thing I do when I research a company is that I look at how they respond to negative comments. To be objective, some company responses were a bit snarky, but once you start working with them, you get the quick sense that this device is their baby, are very proud how they developed it, so rest assured, they'll take really good care of you.Initial challenges:1. This was mentioned in another review, but I cannot, for the life of me, overstate the fact that when you do receive this unit, before doing ANY configuration, PLEASE make sure that you press VERY GENTLY down on the components on the circuit board, to insure that they are properly seated. That pesky blue reset like would flicker off and on intermittently, and that was the culprit. When these units get shipped out, I'm sure all the carriers toss them about and such, and things do get loose. Try making sure they're seated properly before calling, and that may alleviate most of the configuration problems from the get-go.I wish I had done that earlier - it would have save me mountains of time.2. This unit, does NOT, I repeat, does NOT work with Google Wifi or other Mesh networks. THAT SAID, there is a workaround in some cases. If this is you - read on. If not, you can skip this part.If you use FIOS, like me, and still have your Verizon router [which you will have to keep if you use FIO's DVR functions and such], do NOT turn off the gateway on the FIOS router - just leave it be. Use your mesh network as you regularly do, connecting your other peripherals to said mesh router, BUT connect the MySpool box to the FIOS ROUTER network name, under Network Connections. You will see no degradation in your mesh network speeds and the MySpool box will work.Considerations:1. If you look closely at my photos, you will see I have two floor sensors. I am a big fan of redundancy and I can tell you no one monitoring service can cover all the bases. Specifically, in this case, if the power goes out while your water heater leaks, you are SOL because the MySpool box relies on a constant internet connection. So what did I do? I purchased a Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA 00895001498 Basement Watchdog High Water Alarm [type it in the Amazon search field, and you'll find it], so in the event the aforementioned happens, it will sound a 120 db alarm for three days, as it is powered with a Lithium battery. I purchased another moisture sensor and attached it to the device, instead of using the supplied one.The Glentronics serves as my backup, but make no mistake, the MySpool box is my 'go-to' primary device.2. You are allowed to enter multiple email-addresses in the configuration pages to notify various people in the event the alarm is triggered, only ONE phone number for SMS Messages. If you use Gmail, you can set it up such that, at the end of the day, you can have email warning messages set up as an email-to-text to go to multiple phones.MYSPOOL will provide, at your requested, a very well-written and easy to read technical document on how to do this.3. You may notice that I took the wiring to these sensors and placed them within floor wire protectors. The purpose is two-fold: First, it keeps a technician and others from kicking around your loose wires.Second, it creates a 'mini-dam' that will build up quicker and work its way to your sensor.Whew! That is it for now.Buy this product, a fantastic device with excellent customer support. You won't regret it.
