For those people still reliant on slightly older tech, this type of connector can be essential. This one works exactly as advertised (not much more I can really say than that!) and anyway it's always handy to have a spare as this type of cabling becomes less common to get hold of.

Really pleased with this RS232 cable, which the makers "H.May" have created in many types too, all really useful.Their range of RS232 cables, at the time of writing are:Directly connected female to female, Directly connected male to female, Directly connected male to maleFull cross female to female, Full cross male to female, Full cross male to male23 Crossed male to female, 23 Crossed male to male, 23 cross female to femaleThe one I ordered was a 1 metre 'Directly connected male to female', and in my image, I have used it to connect one side to my PC, and the other side to a device which needs controlling and setting up and monitoring.The cable works perfect, and is a real quality all copper core DB9 serial cable.
