They are useful to a pointHowever the gap between the heads is too big for standard 2.5mm fencing wire.The gripping surface is rather small, pliers work better, but useful hammer function and staple removal point.Used on a heritage railway to fix the wire fence, thy could be much better.

I wasn't sure if these would be up to the task of cutting barbed wire and was preparing myself for some cheap Chinese rubbish but I was pleasantly surprised. They are quite heavy but very sturdy and well made just how tools used to be and should be made and are certainly value for money.

Had 400 metres of wire fencing to remove, this is the first time I have used a fencing staple remover and it was brilliant . Comfortable grip and very tough, easily stood up to hammering and quickly removed staples. Wire cutters are a little fiddly in cramped spaces but this did not detract from overall performance. Delivered promptly and packaging not damaged
