I had previously fitted a stereo Switchcraft input jack in my bass as the previous jack had gone faulty. Unfortunately it was a bit glitchy in operation. The 1/4" jack-plug had to be pulled out slightly to work correctly for some reason. I didn't actually need a stereo jack as the bass is passive and therefore didn't need the additional switch circuit so this time I just ordered a regular mono jack.The only thing I had to modify was the long earth tag as it is clearly designed to be used on a cable. I simply cut it back with a pair of regular cutters and then soldered it into place. Also, I used the rubber washer from the Switchcraft jack as this one came with a thin metal washer. The rubber washer wasn't critical but it helps to get the jack to grip the guitar body when you tighten it up.I plugged in the jack-plug and it instantly snapped into place with a satisfying 'click'. Works perfectly. I'm very happy with this jack and will be ordering more when required.
