i grabbed this because i’ve been messing around with some small projects & wanted something close to a raspberry pi pico but with a little more to work with. this one’s been great for that.the headers came pre-soldered, which saved me time. i’m fine doing it myself, but it’s nice not having to mess with it when you just wanna get going. it booted up quick—no hiccups. i flashed micropython on it, ran some basic stuff to test both cores, & everything worked clean.the dual-core, dual-architecture setup gives you some room to get creative depending on what you’re working on. it took a little reading to figure out how to make use of that, but once i got into it, it opened up some options. i’ve got it running on an iot project now… hooked up some sensors & tied in an external wifi module. response times are quick, & i haven’t run into any lag or stability issues yet.physically, it feels well-made. the pre-solder work was clean—no messy joints or crooked pins. 16mb gives me more breathing room compared to a standard pico, so i’m not constantly watching memory usage like before.for the price, it’s a great board to prototype on. no issues after a couple weeks of use, & i’m pushing it pretty steady.

So far setup and test scripts have run perfectly. The waveshare website and wiki have decent documentation. This little board can be run with micro python compiled in Thonny ide or use C++ and the arduino ide. I went with arduino ide for most of my tests as i have it running all the time on my computer. All i had to do is add the library for the board, which is the raspberry pi pico library. Hold boot when plugging in the board and it will be recognized by the computer. The board itself is built extremely well. The design is well thought out and the board is very clean. No flux residue, no components offset or bent pins or anything like that. There's a number of test scripts with schematics on the website that help you start some basic projects and get a feel for the device. Most modules and peripherals that work with raspberry pi pico will work with this board. So far working great!
