A good alternative to the Stihl braned strimmer head at less than half the price of the original ones. This head will fit quite a few different models of the Stihl strimmer. I got this to use on my petrol FS55 strimmer it was very simple to fit it went straight on with no problems at all.The build quality looks good on the head it feels robust, the replacement head comes with some string already wound on to it but it's totally rubbish string with it breaking everything few minutes of strimming.Iv wound some 2.4mm Stihl line onto it now and that's much better, I especially like how easy it is to wind the new line on, it cuts easy with no line breaking, the bump feed is what I'm used to and it works as it should with this head. Highly recommend a good money saver Vs an original Stihl head.

I have a Stihl FS70 strimmer that's using a Stihl Autocut C26-2 so a chance to try an alternative version and one that's much cheaper seemed too good an opportunity to miss.In build quality it looks just like the Stihl version, albeit a different colour. It came with some clear cord that appeared to be 2.6mm round but the listing states its compatible with 2.4mm cord.Having need to do some strimming as soon as it arrived I decide to remove the Stihl head in order to try this one out. It fit perfectly well.I put this to use on some very rough ground I normally strim and it ran well. In fact it was balanced better than my current Stihl head and produced less vibration up the shaft. The included cord didn't last long before it snapped but I was more interested in the actual head than the cord.The Stihl head is rated to take cord upto 2.7mm in diameter and thats what I normally use - both round and square. So, having some 2.7mm cord I removed the included cord so that I could use this. To do this I had to take the head apart to unwrap the unused supplied cord. One thing I noticed immediately was that the metal cord guides were not very secure in the housing and one fell out. Not a major problem but in long grass or bush it may have got lost. The Stihl ones never come out and that's why I've dropped the review one star.Having re-assembled the head I fed the 2.7mm square cord through. It was a tight fit and when I came to use it I found it would bind up inside the head and snap frequently. The Stihl head had no problems with 2.7mm cord. I swapped to some 2.6mm round cord which wound in easily and this worked perfectly with no binding or snapping even after about 90mins of use. The bump stop autofeed worked very well.To be honest I can't see much difference between using 2.6mm vs 2.7mm cord but 2.7mm was all I could get last time. So the fact that this head works very well with 2.6mm cord is good.In summary - so far this is a very good alternative to the Stihl Autocut C26-2 and at the time of this review about a third of the price. Use it with up to 2.6mm cord and it runs very well. How long it lasts compared to the Stihl original, only time will tell.
