The kit came with everything I needed to get started with arduino. Everything works well and the packaging kept it safe during shipment.

The SunFounder Beginner’s Lab Starter Kit is a great kit to learn the basics of electronics with for kids! It has a decent digital multimeter that is super light and made out of plastic, so it is something to not worry about getting damaged in the hands of children!It comes with a pretty great manual with lessons on the uses of circuits though it asks for the user to design circuits to do certain tasks light creating a desk lamp circuit but then there isn’t an answer given in the handbook to show that user that there answer is correct! I didn’t see any links to drive the user to get the answer online either! For certain lessons they do provide answers though.The manual explained what all the various components are and what they could be used for. I liked tha the wiring had plastic tips on it, so it was designed for repeated use and not to strip out. Also to help prevent someone from possibly getting an electric shock when not intended.There were samples of code for designing certain actions/sequences within the manual which could be programmed into the board. Interestingly there is even an ultrasonic module included in the kit!Another interesting thing is that the manual does not cover how to use a multimeter. So, it wasn’t really covering all the base knowledge that someone would need to get started in electronics!I think that they should have linked to their website for further lessons and visual learning through video tutorials to really make the product shine and be worthwhile! Being able to pull further code and design more complex circuits as the learner’s skills developed!

昔ちょっとかじった程度でほぼ初心者ですが楽しめました。一式揃っているのでこのセットだけでも結構色々なことができ勉強できます。取説は英語なのでスマホの翻訳に頼りつつ参考にしました。入門編としてはなかなかいいんじゃないかと思います。昔勉強した時にこういうセットがあればよかったなと思いました。

On the whole, I really like this kit - it includes all the bits and pieces you need for not only the 25 projects that are listed, but also for lots of other tinkering besides and it's a GREAT progression from the simple to the more complex. Learning how to properly build a circuit and test with a multimeter is a very useful skill for the budding inventor (for the kids out there) or for a homeowner looking to save a few bucks on calling an electrician to diagnose some simple electrical issues (for the adults). Though of course adults could be budding inventors as well! The inclusion of the Arduino takes the projects up a notch - you go from building basic circuits to building PROGRAMMABLE "smart" circuits (that you then develop basic code for) teaching coding in a fun and practical manner that has immediate real-world applicability. The bits, parts and pieces are of generally okay quality for the purposes of an educational kit/toy and the multimeter and Arduino can be re-purposed outside the kit for years to come.So with all that good going for it, you might be asking yourself why this is a 4 star review instead of 5. In that case, it all comes down to what's NOT in the box (nor even mentioned). As I unpacked the box, I opened up the small manual that's included, eager to get started and found....a part list and a place to record notes for each experiment. The manual in the box does NOT have the instructions for the 25 projects, nor does it tell you where you can get the manual! Having had some SunFounder kits in the past, I knew that they have a very detailed website with lots of resources, so I went to the website and after some digging was able to find a PDF version of the manual that DOES have the instructions for the projects and download that. I may or may not print it since it's 440 pages in length but at least I have the instructions...but it should have been easier. IF the product is advertised as including 25 lessons, the lesson book / instructions SHOULD have been in the box. Even if SunFounder didn't want to make the box a lot bigger and heavier by including a 440 (or 220 if duplexed) letter-sized page manual - or if they knew it was going to change frequently and would end up out of date - they could have at least included a note about how to find the manual or a direct URL in the small book that IS included. Even something simple like "The full instruction book can be found online at ..." would have been easy to include and saved a lot of time. As-is, the lack of instructions causes the removal of a star - with that line in the manual (which should be easy to add in future versions!) this would be a five star product!So if you're looking for a fun way to learn about electronics, multimeters and how to program basic automations with Arduino, this is a great kit to work through (once you locate the instruction book, that is). Give it a try today!
