I wore these (with thin socks) to a garden wedding on a hot day - they are very comfortable: unlike the classic Sperry, there is a somewhat cushy liner that provides some arch support and makes it easy to stand for hours. The upper is a soft leather with zero break in period. Based upon experience, you can go sockless, but the same leather insole pad that creates the comfort also may create a little more heat, as it provides a slightly snugger (but still relaxed) fit. Blue leather with brown lace and cream colored sole looks good.
