This worked fine for my 2000 Murray 42" Select Twin. The issue I was having was a click with no crank. The issue was intermittent. That could mean solenoid contacts going bad or starter going bad. The solenoid is far cheaper than the starter, and easier to install, so I decided to start there. I think the problem is licked. It started 10 times in a row with no issues.Installation is straightforward. Just a little tight. There's a panel on my Murray which is just in front of the seat, under the steering wheel. The solenoid is accessible just past that opening. See picture. Be careful not to tighten down the solenoid so much that the bolts strip the metal underneath. I think I did that on one side. Used green threadlocker on it afterwards; hopefully will be ok. Well, its an old mower but new mowers are unaffordable any more, and the quality doesn't touch these 2000-vintage models built in TN.
