Packaging says that it 5L (1.1kg, 2lb 7oz) with a 3 ply base. Also that it is BPA PFSA and PTFE free. The colander/sides are silicone and it has "click safe handles". It also reads that it is induction and gas cooktop compatible. The instructions are in multiple languages on the box. Definitely giftable, especially for someone with a small apartment or tiny house or a college student.I wasn't expecting the instructions to also be etched in the bottom side of the pan. It is easy to use if you have both hands in terms of clicking the handles. The lid slides out to reverse the handle direction. Handles must push towards the bowl to release and pull out.I have not yet used it yet because I have been mad busy at work. I will update my review once I do.

The Sea to Summit Detour Stainless Steel Collapsible Pot, with a capacity of 5 liters, is designed with a silicone midsection that enables the pot to collapse to less than half its height. The silicone is high-quality, food-grade material and can withstand boiling temperatures, although it’s not intended for direct flame exposure. The pot's base, rim and lid are made of stainless steel, making the pot capable of being used indoors on an induction stove. In contrast to Sea to Summit’s entirely aluminum cookware, this collapsible pot lacks a non-stick coating in its base. Its primary function is for boiling rather than frying food. This pot can be nested within larger cookware from the Sea to Summit Detour range, and Sea to Summit dishes and utensils can also fit inside this pot when it’s collapsed.I received this cookware from Amazon’s Vine program in exchange for a review. I'm not going to complain about such quality cookware (especially cookware I received for free), but as a longtime camper in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, I feel I shouuld share my thoughts on the use of this pot and other collapsible pots in Sea to Summit's Detour and Frontier lines.Despite the innovative design of Sea to Summit's collapsible pots, I probably prefer Sea to Summit’s superbly built fully anodized aluminum cookware, which also nests but includes a non-stick ceramic coating. For larger groups and frying food, these silicone-sided pots may not be your best choice. Eventually, the efficiency of nesting larger pots can rival having multiple collapsible pots of different sizes. While these pots are undoubtedly cool, for larger groups and non-ultra-lightweight camping, I’d recommend Sea to Summit’s rigid aluminum cookware. However, these pots do come with a great lifetime warranty. If a collapsible pot will meet your needs, you’re sure to appreciate the pot itself.

I've used the Sea to Summit Detour Stainless Steel Collapsible Pot, and it's become an essential part of my camping gear. The collapsible design is genius—it saves so much space in my backpack, leaving room for other essentials. Despite being lightweight, the stainless steel construction is durable and heats up evenly, making cooking a breeze. The pot's handles are sturdy and comfortable to grip, even when filled with hot food. Plus, it's easy to clean, which is always a bonus when you're out in the wilderness. Whether I'm cooking up a storm at the campsite or simply boiling water for a cup of coffee, this pot never disappoints. It's a must-have for any outdoor enthusiast!

It's clever, it's sexy. I get compliments on it all the time from other people visiting the base camp. It's become our primary stockpot for things like boiling noodles and potatoes.my one worry is the silicone. I wish it was a little heavier duty. I am worried that if I nick it with a knife or edge of a utensil that it will eventually cause the pan to break down. If that happens I will return to this review with an update. It does collapse into an impressively small foot print, given the amount of volume provided (5L)
