Ortofon Stylus MKII Scratch Stilo di ricambio - Stilo per DJ di alta qualità

This is a good stylus from what I've seen. It works and does what it's supposed to do. I'll update the review with how long it lasted later on. I just got the Scratch MK II, and I messed up the needle by banging around the tone arm a bit too much when I was doing something else around the turntable. That's my fault, and I'll be sure to be A LOT more careful with this replacement. I DJ, so I have two pair and the other one is just fine. It didn't get dragged across the platter though, so it should be haha. Anyway, I like the replacement and it's a reasonable price. Time will tell how long it holds up... stay tuned....

I have been a DJ now for 44 years and have used Ortofon Cartridges and styluses for at least the last 25 years straight. I bought 2 of these replacement styluses and every other time, throughout those years I have had them sound great and had them last with very regular use, for many years. These I have had for just over a year and both of them sound like complete crap! Mass distortion in the high mids, ie 4 -10k range. Complete mush! This distortion and poor sound quality started at around 4 months of incredibly light use!If I would of known that I could have returned them within a year after purchase I definitely would have but now it's too late. Now, I have no idea what to replace them with as I don't trust that the same thing will happen with the next set and the cartridges I bought even more recently so I don't want to have to switch over and buy 2 new cartridges. So frustrating! Learn from my needle hell! Don't do it!!

Make sure you break them in with at least 10+ hours of just plain listening before you start scratching or back cueing to get the best results and longevity out of your needles (this applies to most needles)
