Alldeles för stor, och fruktansväört ljud. Hemsk.

Summary: great sounding, great looking bell, true "ding dong"; generally gets lots of compliments for its nice sound; sounds in the rain; almost an exact replica of "Basil" brand. Bad points: loosens at the bottom at the bracket point; top bell part also loosens = it eventually fails and requires replacement. I've only had this bell since the end of September 2022 and as of the beginning of July 2023, it needs to be replaced. Like the Basil bell brand, it requires a lot of improvement to stay solid. One should be able to count on a better bell and not have to keep replacing it so often. Read on for more details. When operational this bell sounds great--true "ding dong"--and is particularly loud/effective in city, high traffic environments. (I live and ride in a major, Canadian city.) It is an excellent knock off, if not an almost exact replica, of the Basil brand ding dong bell. I previously had one of those and bought this one to replace it, because I didn't feel like spending another $40-$50 on a Basil brand. Unfortunately, this bell gets only 3 stars because it has the same problems the Basil brand does. The bottom part, attached to the bracket, eventually loosens and there is no way to tighten it. It's not on a true, threaded screw from bell to bracket. So it moves around and wobbles. The top half part of the bell ALSO eventually loosens and you have to turn it so it will stay in the right spot to achieve the "ding dong" sound. Otherwise you get just a "ding" (not bad, a solid one note), or a "thuck" (basically a nothing sound). Unlike the Basil bell, the top of which will keep spinning up and even fall off, the top half of this bell seems to stay on and has not fallen off. So once you turn it or "tune it" it will generally stay put and you'll get the "ding dong" sound. And good luck to you if your someone drops your bike accidentally and the bell is impacted (mechanic did that with my last bell, the Basil), then you're in worse trouble. When he did that he really actually wrecked the Basil. The bell sound itself gets A LOT of compliments. People usually say it's the nicest sounding bell they've ever heard. One time (on a trail) someone told me they were confused because they thought the ice cream truck was down in the ravine, lol, and how could that be? If you "wail" on it in traffic (getting cut off, right hooked, almost getting doored even when you were ringing and warning you were coming, etc.) it's loud and clear and actually does not sound obnoxious. Final note: can be heard even when it is raining.Love the sound, love the look. Annoyed by the continued failure of this style's overall construction, so now I'm looking at bells again.
