El sonido de este pedal es espectacular, el sonido del overdrive es cálido y a la vez con mucho carácter, lo utilizo con mi guitarra fender telecaster para tocar worship y tiene mucha ganancia, es muy dinámico y responde bien a la digitación. además su diseño es muy bonito y robusto.

The JHS Angry Charlie was one of those pedals I was "around" for years, but somehow never tried out...until now. Like many JHS pedals, its circuitry is based on a classic pedal of yesteryear (The 90's era Marshall Guv'nor), along with some further tweaks and enhanced EQ control. The V3 edition has bass, middle, and treble controls - these are set so that a 12:00 setting is basically "flat", and then you can cut or boost each frequency band. The mids control is crucial to pedal's versatility, as it will transform your sound from chunky to cutting, or from scooped to punchy.The idea of the Angry Charlie is that it's a "Marshall JCM800 in a box", which is the classic, hi-gain Marshall sound from 80's rock and metal. However, what's most notable to me about the pedal isn't how close it gets to a Marshall, but the variety of different sounds and styles it can accommodate. I've tried plenty of pedals that go for that similar driven sound - the MI Audio Crunch Box and Wampler Pinnacle come to mind. But few of them can do that...and also crunchy, just-breaking-up blues sounds with lower gain settings. In fact, the pedal puts out usable sounds with decent output almost through the entire sweep of the gain knob, which is an impressive and much-appreciated design feat. The Angry Charlie has stood the test of time for a reason, and I was pleasantly surprised how well it could be dialed in to work with different guitars, cover different gain ranges, and pair with other overdrives/boosts in front of it.

This is a fantastic pedal. Very amp-like in its response and feel. I’d compare it very favorably to the ZVEX Box of Rock and/or Distortron. Where this pedal has both these beat, is in its 3-band EQ. It costs a little more than the Distortron, but the EQ is worth it. It’s also made right here in the USA.Think of the drive knob as the volume on an old tube amp. It will only really distort at around 2 o’clock and beyond. You get great breakup with pick attack before that point. At 3 o’clock and beyond, things get very saturated and saggy, like you would expect a JTM-45 to behave.I previously owned a Friedman Mini Dirty Shirley combo, because I wanted that JTM-45 sound. You don’t need a $1800 hardwired amp to get that. If you have an amp that takes pedals well, just get one of these.I originally intended to stack a Timmy into this for more gain. But that’s not needed with humbuckers. Just turn the drive up as high as your guitar’s volume pot will allow you to so you can adequately dial things back for cleanish tones. You won’t need a gain boost if you’re after vintage 60s to early 70s British rock tones.A fantastic pedal.

Has a great 60s tone. Reminds me in certain settings of a Kinks guitar sound.

Overdrive polyvalente, va du très bon crunch propre et doux aux saturations type70s.Censé imiter les amplis Supro UK (Jimi Page etc) de type classA (harmoniques paires présentes).Bon, ce n'est pas un vrai Supro, mais très beau grain (3 étages JFet classA inside), réagit bien à l'attaque du médiator.Ne colore pas le son, le Tone coupe les aigües en gardant les basses qui ne sont pas trop envahissantes: c'est droit.C'est n'est pas du métal, mais y a du gain quand même ! Le dosage est bien fait.Le switch Boost permet une bonne variation du gain, en allant même sur un booster clair avec des simple bobinages.Attention, ce n'est pas un tube screamer, ni le son Marshall: cad que c'est moins flatteur (pas de bosse dans les medium) pour celui qui débute...
