The cable was a bit to long. I had to drill another hole in handle for device to function properly. Maybe I selected the wrong one.

my original part started to get real difficult to pull which meant. I didnt realize (until i replaced the part) that it had filled with enough dirt to gum it up and cause some minor rust in the actual cable.first it didn't pull clean, then the soldiered connection piece broke, and then all my cheap tie fixes snapped repeatedly. There was not other option, replace the part or replace the mower. fortunately i was able to use the model number and find an old manual online and a parts list. doing an internet search, i found this part that supposedly replace my part. when i opened it, i was initially concerned that it would not fit. Well it did fit. it was a little shorter which i didn't notice till i collapsed the push bars for storage, but with a slight adjustment, it worked out ok. Removed a goofy, non-functional, overly-engineered for the marketing department electric start "system" from my rear wheel drive push lawn mower and replaced the cable, which had broken after 13 years, with this one. A perfect fit, and installation took less than two minutes. Very happy with this inexpensive, high quality cable and I would buy it again, but I think it will outlast the rest of the lawn mower.
