Photo is of the GSI Outdoors 6 Cup in between a 3 cup and 12 cup by Bialetti. Despite what another reviewer has stated, this is in fact stainless steel. The bottom is a magnetic alloy of stainless steel for use with induction cooktops. It is a MYTH that all stainless steel is nonmagnetic E.g. 409, 430, 439, 410, 420, 440, 2205 are all magnetic alloys of stainless steel. Filling to the pressure relief valve makes roughly 450ml of espresso. PSA you shouldn't fill a moka pot past the relief valve.

I have used several types of coffee makers, had two aluminum bialettis and one cheap IKEA pot which surprisingly worked better than the stainless bialetti. This pot took some work to figure out how to make it go just right which was a challenge but now I’ve got what works and it’s super. Holds two 2/3 american cups of coffee which is perfect for me since I always put some sort of milk in my strong coffee. I ran water through it as per instructions the first time, and it worked perfectly. Sputtered at the right time, everything worked great. Then I tried a run with beans I’d ground my normal, for over 40 years, stove top espresso fineness and uck. The water didn’t come through and the ground coffee got scorched plus there was some leakage from the gasket. I’d read about that in the reviews so had been looking for it and the run through with water had been fine, maybe a leak of one or two drops, but this was leaking and I couldn’t see where. I decided that since I’d done this pot right after heating and running the water through I’d better try again after the pot cooled down. The other potential thing was that with the water in it I’d heard the sound I needed to cool it down, with the coffee in it it didn’t make the usual gurgling and I missed when it went through it was so quiet. It hadn’t used a third of the water but had boiled off what was left in the pot so I knew it wasn’t pushing up properly. It got slightly scorched outside and inside there were a couple of spots that were discolored, but nothing too bad. I ran a pot after this cooled and the coffee tasted fantastic and everything worked pretty well but I still couldn’t hear much of a gurgle, there had been some gasket leakage, still very little but it was still happening, and there was still a substantial amount of water left behind. Third time’s the charm and I really tightened the gasket (which I had hesitated to do since I’ve been known to strip plumbing joins since I turn very hard) to my personal “tight but not so tight I can’t get the bottom off later” level, and also turned the heat off. Using a gas stove I was perking at the middle place between low and medium. I turned it up to 3/4’s from low towards medium and both things seem to have done the trick. I’ve been using it for a full week now, with four different types of beans and this works fantastic once you figure out what to do with the quirks that show up at your place. I’ve backpacked with old bialettis and this is a great camping pot. Not big but two cups for me. I hope they make a bigger version since it would be nice to have an 8-10 cup size. The taste is great, I called GSI Outdoors and they told me the stainless is 18-8, which is under 18-10 but a good stainless. The bottom has discolored a bit with the slightly higher heat, but that is nothing I’d worry about. The taste of the coffee is really good and smooth. I give this little pot two thumbs up and would highly recommend. I will update if needed after a few months of daily use. Really helped the quality of my covid stay in a really good way:) Excellent for both espresso and french roast beans.

This moka espresso pot is so perfect for camping! My husband knew i needed my daily cup of coffee and got this for me for our camping trip. I highly recommend it, it was fast, super easy to use and clean! I felt like i was glamping instead of camping!

I've used this daily for 20 days at home. It makes great coffee. I get two full mugs per pot.After 2 weeks the spot welded attachment for the lid failed. I'm returning the pot and ordering another hoping that this is a one-off failure.The pot would have received 5 stars if it were not for the lid failure.
